Construction of the school wasn't completely finished, and students and staff are currently in the…read morecompleted classroom building part of the school with the administrative and cafeteria part of the school unfinished. The kids had to eat lunch in the classroom for several months now and have us to do indoor recess to keep them safe and away from the construction activities. We are hoping that in a couple of weeks the construction will finally be complete and our kids can go back to norma with outdoor recess, lunch in the cafeteria, and access to their school library. It's all very exciting, but disappointed that they weren't completely ready for the students and had to open the school basically half done. On a positive note, the administration staff are very friendly and helpful and we have an enjoyable experience each time we've had to check out our kids for appointments. Our kids teachers' are equally awesome as well.

The location is the old site of the GW Carver Primary School which has been relocated to a new site/facilities... Anyway you have to stop into this place once a year to provide residency verification to show your kid is allowed to attend Ascension Parish schools...you'd be surprised at how many people that live out of Ascension Parish try and sneak their kids into Ascension schools... So the staff at RVTO are there to do verification as well as random checks throughout the school years on people suspected of gaming the system...if they catch you I've heard the consequences can be severe... That's pretty much all that can be said for this part of the school system...
