In the meantime, sit back, relax do whatever, to pass the time. Once they call your number, the process is very fast It's pretty organized here, compared to some of NY DMV's, I've been to. Covid screwed a lot of places where you HAD to be seen in person. So far so good. No horror story to tell.

I had a really disappointing experience with the security guard at the Millbrook DMV. When I…read morearrived, I wasn't aware that certain paperwork needed to be filled out first, and no one explained the process to me. Instead of helping or simply pointing me in the right direction, the security guard spoke to me in a rude and dismissive way that made me feel embarrassed and stupid for not already knowing what to do. I understand DMV offices can be busy, but basic courtesy and clear communication go a long way. People come in for help and guidance, especially when procedures aren't obvious. A little patience and professionalism would have made the experience much better.

I understand DMV customer service is not great anywhere anyways but this place was definitely the worst by far I ever had to deal with. Today I attempted to replace my license due to missing wallet. However, I was met with an attitude…read moreand misinformation. The woman in window one explained I would need a "drivers abstract". I provided all my information to replace my license such as ID number, class, expiration date..etc. She claimed additional info was needed. I offered to show her a photo of my missing ID on my phone and I was denied that as well. This DMV is completely inadequate and not helpful at all. They do not have the knowledge to assist properly.

Went to this location specifically with my dad on Tuesday February 6th 2024. Never been there…read morebefore, but since they rebuilt, and reopened, this locations looks very nice. It also has a modern look on the outside, and inside.There is parking in the front of the building, and that lot seems big even though we had to quickly find a spot. I like that all the offices are in one building. Like we were there to register our new trailer, and renew the registration, so we had to go to the DMV. The DMV office is on the 1st floor. First, though we had to go through security, but it was very easy, and people were very nice there. Even was chatting with one security guard who was very nice, and will be memorable. Even once we entered the DMV office, we were helped right away with the proper paperwork to fill out. We filled the paperwork out, went to the ticket window, then was served right away. A woman helped us out, and she was very nice, as well as the other employees we encountered. Now they should also invest in microphones or something in case someone had hearing loss, because she did have a low voice, but my dad was the one listening to her, and whom was needed so it don't matter. Paid our tax payment on the trailer, and then got new registration stickers and went on our merry way! we can now use the trailer and go camping! Had such a excellent experience here, that if I need to go to DMV for anything, I would go here because everyone is friendly, and for the quick service, especially for a walk in before closing!

I had never been to this location but figured I'd give it a try. I had a 9:15 am appt and I…read morearrived before they opened. This location has a large public parking lot which was surprising very full at 9:00 am but I did get a spot. I walked up to the kiosk at the front door, clicked that I had an appt, then put in my phone number and out printed a ticket. I noticed this location is quite small with a few benches and chairs and only about 3-4 service windows so I can imagine it getting crowded quickly. I normally go to the one in the city of Newburgh which is much larger inside and yet has a smaller parking lot. I only waited about 10 mins when my number got called and my counter person was very nice. I was renewing my enhanced driver license and wanted a new picture. I had all the forms ready (they require you come with all the completed forms prior to your appointment) and everything including taking my picture only took 10 mins. I realized I had to rewrite my check as I had the wrong amount and made it out to the wrong name but I brought my check book so I could write a new one. All in all it was a very pleasurable experience and I will definitely be back!

I was prepared for the worse. Ended up not being as bad as I thought…read more The drab, depressing White Plains DMV that once was, has been moved to a new location. Now housed in a more modern building with high ceilings, large windows - bringing in natural sunlight, tons of comfortable seating, plus 26 or so high glass paned counters filled with helpful representatives, makes for a vast improvement. This process ran smoothly, but with a fairly long wait. Especially if you're assigned a late morning reservation as I was. Once you arrive you're scanned in and provided an alphanumeric number. You wait for your number to be called, and instructed to have your photo taken. You then wait again to see another rep who completes your appointment. During each wait entertainment is provided via the MVN (Motor Vehicle Network). Their monitors are ever present grabbing your attention, and most importantly informing you which number is up next to be served. The DMV Representative that assisted with my renewal was surprisingly very helpful and pleasant, as with everyone I encountered. She reviewed my docs, gave her professional opinion on what would be my best option. I then paid for my renewal and was done with this part of the process in under 20 mins. Truthfully, the entire process took a little over 2 hours. Regardless of the lengthy wait, I was impressed with this White Plains DMV's organization. Five stars. TIPS: -Make a reservation for your appt. online -Arrive w/i 15mins of your appt. My recent visit to the Dmv was all good this time around. I remembered where I needed to go versus…read moremy first visit here years ago. I also made my appointment ahead of time, weeks in advance. When I walked in I was greeted by a man who asked if I had an appointment and when I responded yes, he pointed me in the direction I needed to go. Checking in was also easy, and if you had trouble there was someone there to help. I typed in my phone number, my appointment time popped up and I printed out a receipt and found a seat. I had a 11am appointment and I arrived early like 10:36, so not crazy early lol To my surprise at 10:58 my ticket number was called and I was at the counter. The lady at the counter was full of personality. She got me in and out before 11:30. This time the parking only cost me, $3. Overall when you have to go to the Dmv automatically you think of drama and stressful day but my experience there today was calm and easy. I 100% recommend that you make your appointment online beforehand to save yourself the headache.

Instead of listening to our situation or offering an alternative solution, the employee was dismissive and simply handed us the same phone number that we have been calling. Customer service should involve helping people navigate issues, especially when they've already explained that the suggested solution hasn't worked. We left feeling frustrated and unsupported. I hope the office places more emphasis on listening to customers and providing meaningful assistance rather than sending people in circles.

(Basically had the wrong year on the registration paperwork.) Anyways, we got there, line was long and it looked like that it didn't matter if one made an appointment or not. Anyways, after waiting in line for some time, we finally got greeted at a window, and at that point all the empty windows were calling out the next customer because it was getting to closing time. Anyways, we finally got to the window, we explained our situation. Now I got it done at the Mobile DMV in Monroe the registration, so maybe Goshen had our paperwork, and could easily fix it. I could tell that the person helping us at this location was confused and unsure how to do it. However when I tried to fix it at Monroe DMV, they said it was a pretty easy fix and just requires editing the files. Here, even the supervisor came over and was like in sorry, we can't do that here, here is a number to call to help you. Oh and side note- the one working the check in window was the supervisor. So that may have explained why the check in line was long, as she needed to be there to help her employees as well. Very nice deneour though for both the supervisor and the person who helped us. We then renewed another trailers registration while we were there. We then went on our merry way. My dad called the number and had to write a letter to Albany, and they at least helped by telling us what to do.
