Drew was not only extremely intelligent, he was very professional, and he was also very compassionate and passionate about my case. I honestly do not think there was another attorney who could have done what he did for me. He not only won my case he beat the person who was someone I would describe as evil and who almost got away with her evil had it not been for Drew McInnis. After Jesse looked at my financials (current income, rent, car payment, utilities etc), he said I was a good candidate to get some of my tax debt reduced through an "offer in compromise" with the IRS and we could setup a repayment plan for the balance. As a result, I paid thousands and thousands in fees and expense (that would escalate each week) with no actual progress on my case. Finally, one of the Lothamer flunkies (who fled the firm a few weeks later) told me I needed to "come up with more expenses" in order to qualify for the OIC. I can't tell you how horrible this was to hear after spending $6000 or $7000 on a firm that completed nothing more than what TurboTax could have for $500. And giving advice to "come up with more expenses" smells of fraud and baits the IRS to investigate fraud and problems even further. Lothamer filed the late returns and I entered a repayment plan with the IRS and paid every penny of it off over the next few years. Once it was paid off I found an out of state CPA through a tax message board who worked with me for a fraction of the cost of Lothamer and we recovered nearly $24,000 in penalties and late fees that were in the repayment plan. It's my opinion that Lothamer is a bottom feeder that preys on people in desperate positions. Good luck in your situation. It can be very stressful but there is a way out.
