Duramend did an excellent job mending a worn area on the driver's seat of my 2010 Subaru Outback. The price was a reasonable $225 + $18 sales tax. Their upholsterer removed the original seat cover, un-stitched the piece with the damage, made a pattern and then stitched a replacement piece back into the original seat cover. The color and material match is perfect and the craftmanship is so good there is no way of knowing there ever was a repair. I took my boyfriends leather coat here a few years ago to be relined since I couldn't find anyone who would work on leather and NOT send it out of state. I was his late grandpa's bomber jacket and it is his favorite winter coat. They were the cheapest place and did exceptional work and did it on time. They also do luggage as well as upholstery. I can't comment on their work, as I have never gotten past the estimate stage. My low rating is for customer service. I contacted them about a year and half ago for an estimate regarding the interior of my car. I had to contact them on several occasions to finally get the estimate. I decided not to do anything at the time, in order to focus on other areas of the car that needed repair. On July 25 of this year, I requested another, far more extensive estimate, this time for a complete redo of the interior, all in leather. I still haven't heard from them. I am not going to chase them down, since they clearly have more than enough busiz dBmness to keep them occupied. UPDATE Over the past winter, I had them redo pretty much the entire leather interior on my '85 928S. I am very happy with the results. The color is spectacular. There are a few spots that need to be corrected, which they have advised they will take care of when I bring it back at the emd of the drivong season. The communication is still not the greatest, and sometimes aggravating, but the payoff at the price range was worth it. read more

I attempted to get my boyfriends couch fixed and went with them. Whoever answered (a woman ) was always polite and responded to my emails. They gave me what I thought was a fair price. Also warned me they may not be able to repair it being the leather was a different texture. ( other companies told me the same ) They came out on time and he really tried everything to fix it lol. I wasn't disappointed because I knew. They didn't charge me for the service just the travel fee. Nothing bad to say about them. I recently purchased a car that needed some work. The previous owner was a cigarette smoker and stoner. There was some oil based paint on both front seats along with a couple burn holes. I thought that it would be best to simply have all of the fabric replaced. My work hours did not permit me to come in for a visual inspection and quote so I took pictures on my cell phone and emailed them to the email address provided by the rep on the phone. They gave me a good quote after reviewing the pictures and email description of the work desired. I dropped the car off and left my keys in the over night slot on the side of the building. I received a phone call the next day and they explained how the fabric is glued to the foam cushions and this is a harder job than expected and the quote needed to be revised. I was a little bummed out. The lady said how she was able to work out some of the paint with one of their solvents and she had confidence that it could be removed. When I initially got my car detailed, the detail shop stated that oil based paints will not come out. I gave Duramend the green light to fix the burn marks also if the paint comes out. Well, when I came to pick up the car, it looked way better than expected, with all original fabrics. All of this for around 33% of the cost of the original quote. This was my final phase of the car's restoration and I couldn't be happier. I spoke at length with the gentleman who was working at around 7 pm when I picked it up. Overall, a great dude, great service and I give this place the highest recommendation that I can think of. If you need any car/furniture/boat reupholstery, look no further. I have never written a review for anything before. So this has to tell you that Duramend is a very special place. Especially bad. I wish I can tell you that the organization was bad. But I can't, there was no "organization" at all. I explained to employees the work I needed to have done. They didn't relay that to the office thus delaying my upholstery project by a week. On top of that they call me Friday at 4 PM before holiday weekend to tell me it was done which meant I couldn't pick it up until Tuesday.In conclusion they do good work but very unprofessional business for top dollar pricing. read more
