I love poetry. Especially about food. So inspiring! I was buying a fountain pen at Lamy around the corner and they suggested I stop in to Mahmoud's for a bite. Glad I did. Fresh and plentiful ingredients and toppings. Crunchy felafel. Flavorful curry infused shawarma. Chewy bread. 100% delicious. Off the beaten path. Highly recommended.

Not too mention that they made sure to throw a joke in from time to time. We tried the falafel and kofta plates plus another lamb dish that was not on the menu, all delicious. If you're lucky to go on a sunny day, make sure to grab a table outside. Highly recommend their house made lemonade.

The hookah was good and the coals were attended to, but the owner/elder guy there was kind of a D. The music was amazing for about 1.5hrs (some hip hop mix that blew away the music in nyc), then they switched to some vanilla, status quo Arabic music that Dick Clark produced.
