Excellent sauna in the middle of Amsterdam! I've tried saunas and bath houses around the world…read more This establishment is by no means big, but it was plentiful. It had everything you need and what they had was top notch. *AMBIANCE* Cozy, elegant, and stylish. There is some history to this place and you can tell two things: 1) It is family owned and they are taking good care of the place, and 2) the interior decoration is outstanding and they family put a lot of effort into getting it to where it is. Overall, the place is very quiet, peaceful, and a great place to relax. *SAUNAS* Their saunas met the mark with a high margin. The hot sauna is hot! The infrared sauna makes you sweat! The low heat sauna is great for relaxing! The water pool - cold! The steam room - great for skin cleansing and relaxing. They were all kept very clean! *ETIQUETTE* No clothes of any kind allowed in the saunas. Place your towel under you to cover your full body and to capture your sweat. Saunas and dressing room are co-ed, in fact the entire place is co-ed. Behave respectfully and politely. Ask the staff for any clarification, as they were super polite, helpful, and kind. Great place to try your first sauna in the Netherlands.

The only drawback is ironically the same thing that gives Deco Sauna its charm: It's not a large…read morefacility. For that reason, walk-ins are nearly impossible, and reservations are hard to get...and it can occasionally get crowded to the point where you might have to wait or return to get a good seat in one of the saunas. Otherwise, as mentioned--and as indicated by its name--the "Deco"-era interiors are unlike any I've ever experienced at such a spa, which further adds to the escapism that is the bliss of a spa with different saunas, a cold plunge, etc. The owners and operators are truly wonderful, too! I visited multiple times during my first visit to Amsterdam, and I will certainly return when I visit again.

Came here while visiting family in Veenendaal. I can never express to others how utterly obsessed I…read moream with this place. There is NOTHING even close to this in the United States. First let me start off by saying I had no Idea this was a nude facility. As my aunt was dropping me off at the front door I got a casual "You know this is nude right?" and although I really DIDN'T know it was nude I was too embarrassed to say I was shy so I just got a hold of myself and decided "what the hell? lets do this sheit." I guess I should say this place is "clothing optional" but I didn't see a single person wearing clothes I know it may be weird to even bring it up but I feel like its a very important point to touch on for people (like me) who have never been to such an establishment. . I was expecting to walk in and see naked people parading around with their surgically enhanced an altered bodies, and other weirdos staring and being in appropriate but to my pleasant surprise that's not what I got at all. For a minute I forgot I was in Holland where people are inherently more chill and less shallow. Where am I? What is this place? There are people of all shapes and sizes just being REGULAR. no weirdos. no creeps. no body flaunters. just regular people like me being kind to their bodies and enjoying the relaxation. And believe me... there's a lot of relaxing to be done at this place. Now to get to the important part which is the facility itself. am I allowed to say amazeballs on yelp? because AMAZEBALLS. so when we say sauna here in the US what comes to mind is a small 20x20 room with a few people in it enjoying the heat. This is not just your ordinary "sauna".. oh, no no no.,... This is a dutch sauna overload megaplex. There is every different kind of dry sauna, steam room, and plunge pool you can imagine and then some. we're talking high temperature dry sauna, low temperature dry sauna. dry sauna with a salt wall, citrus steam room with different levels, eucalyptus steam room, heated tile seats, plunge pools, hot tubs, indoor pool, outdoor pool, lawn chairs, lounge, bar, restaurant, spa, salt scrub room, infrared lights, and the list goes on. It may not sound as cool as it actually is, and maybe I'm just over-reacting because we don't have anything like this, but seriously, GO HERE. So many Not to mention if you need a little break from the heat or the water you can go to the lounge which is a room where people can lounge on comfy couches and read or nap or meditate or whatever. there's pillows and fire places and so many different seating arrangements it will make your head spin. everyone in the lounge is robed. hungry? grab a bite to eat while you're at it. there's a little restaurant and bar on site. I got a cheese "toastie" and mango smoothie. so delicious! The facility is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I could have spent all day in there.... oh wait... I DID! :)
