The pharmacist is pretty friendly and offers lots of over the counter advice for minor ailments. For a small shop it's well stocked with lots of both sex toiletries, makeup and domestic products. There are always v good deals on things like toothpaste, facewipes and deodorants. Good selection of health brands like linwoods, biona, PhD and maximuscle. Protein bars like PhD, Quest and ON are from £1.49. Yankee candles also available. General chemist staff as helpful and friendly.

This store does the usual plethora of over the counter products along with a full prescription pharmacy. I only noticed after walking around the city looking for the best place to buy whey protein. The time when muscle building was a prerogative has been and gone but back then it seemed fitting. Holland and Barrett was often the haunt of many looking to stock up on huge great tubs of the awfully flavoured nonsense, but prices here rivalled. £18 for a large tub of whey, banana flavoured. Loverly.

It now offers photo development and even an opticians. It is becoming a one stop shop for everything. What I like about Boots is that it stocks major brands so you can be assured that what you are buying is the real deal in comparison to the likes of semi-chem. I recently called into the Boots in Castlecourt as I had really bad toothache and was going to pick up some gel for it. I went to the counter to pay when the girl advised me of a product they had that would work much better and was pretty much the same price. I bough the recommended gel and it worked wonders and I've recommended it to my friends. Purely because of the excellent customer service and advice I'd come back to this Boots of I had any ailments that could be sorted with over the counter drugs.

It really does offer excellent choice and stocks cool (but well overpriced) make-up brands like Urban Decay and Benefit- swooon! I also get my foundation in here which is Revlon Colurstay and works out about a tenner cheaper than when I buy it down south! Crazy! This particular one isn't stocked by many places, so I was delighted to find it in here. The make-up ranges are great and they also have every hair care prouduct you can think of. The John Frida Brilliant Brunette hair serum is only £6 and works wonders. Really recommended. Randomly they also offer a range of lunch sandwiches and pasta dishes for people popping in on their break. On the pharmacy end of things the staff are knowledgeable, helpful and polite. A great store, which has been recently refurbished, in a great location. Only thing is you're going to come out with empty pockets!

It combines the pharmaceutical element with the top-end makeup counters, as well as offering toiletries and the like at very reasonable prices. The pharmacy has been home to Smashbox makeover days, which was particularly exciting as this makeup brand has only newly come to Belfast. Urban specialises in Vichy, Decleor, Clarins, La Roche and the like, as well as Nuxe skincare range, which is apparently highly sought after. However, despite these high quality makeup brands being one of the main features of Urban Pharmacy, the rest of the prices really are very decent. I spotted Sally Hansen's 'Airbrush Legs' for a mere £7.95, and managed to pick up a really good quality body buffer for 99p. Excellent. The customer service is second to none in Urban Pharmacy. I have always been pleasantly greeted and conversed with, and have found all the staff extremely polite and helpful. Makes all the difference. Definitely one of Belfast's best pharmacies, and undoubtedly worth a visit.

Walking through Belfast the other day I was drawn in to Gordons chemist by a deal they had in their…read morewindow, they had a great offer on mens aftershave. To be honest before I saw the sign in the window I had no idea Gordons sold perfume and aftershave. I thought they were a traditional chemsit focussing on pharmaceuticals. The store was clean and obviously fragrant as you'd expect a chemsit to be. I have one gripe about my experience of Gordons, I went in specifically fro the aftershave deal they had displayed in the window. I walked straight in the door and approached the counter that was manned by two members of staff, I then sprayed the aftershave on to some test paper and began to smell it. At this point I was waiting for one of the members of staff to ask me 'could they help with anything' but they didn't! So I hung around for another few minutes until the point it actually became awkward and then I left. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that they were busy but they could have said they'd be with me in a minute and that would have solved the situation. This put me off going back in to Gordons despite their offer but this could have been a one off so I am going to give the otherwise great chemist 3 stars.

I guess most people know exactly what high street giant Boots is like, so there's no point in going into too much detail about it. Despite the fact this particular Boots is a large store carrying a vast and varied stock I just don't shop here as much as I used to. This is because I prefer Superdrug own-brand products which are labelled Vegetarian, Vegan and Cruelty Free. I find it disappointing that Boots will not commit to the Leaping Bunny Program for its own-brand items. Thus, although they pay lip service to the Cruelty Free ethos and may tell the public that their products are cruelty free, Boots could be selling products worldwide in countries, such as China, where animal testing is the norm and sadly a requirement. I just won't support this nor give my money to a company which profits from cruelty outside the European Union. No amount of heavy duty marketing, loyalty card points, two for the price of one special offers, discounts or sales offers will make me think otherwise. Hence nowadays I avoid Boots as much as possible and instead shop at Superdrug or online from companies I am confident are truly Cruelty Free on a worldwide scale.

Woman's description: elderly, dark, shoulder length hair, wearing a black Savers staff jacket. Acted like a manager, I'm bot sure, nor did I get her name. Time: between 02:30 and 3pm yesterday Wednesday March 31st. First of all, I am hearing impaired and in my late 60"s. To scream and yell at a hearing impaired person, or anyone for that matter, I believe is unexceptable at any workplace. I was having difficulty hearing the cashier, which young lady would repeat or answer my question to how much the razors were she was trying to promote. Elderly woman on staff came running up out of nowhere screaming at me, if you take your headphones off, you can hear her. When I attempted to explain to her I am hearing impaired, She shouted, ''get over yourself, get over yourself!'' Which, fact being, I could not hear anyone whatsoever without my signal boosting headphones. All staff were wearing masks, so reading lips would not be possible for me. If only she had let me explain I am hearing impaired. She never gave me a chance. I wear a kind of headphones on the market that are a bone conduction headphones, noise-reducing headphones, and noise-isolating headphones that is used and highly effective for those who are hearing impaired. With a built in microphone that helps me to hear people. They really assist in addition to in my in-ear hearing aids. The only reason I know what events that happened and were said to me was a nice lady in the shop heard and witnessed everything and caught up with me on the street telling me how horribly I had been treated and she stated that was her behavior was inexcusable! This makes me think about how many of those customers, those unfortunate, elderly and impaired, this staff member has mistreated. I appreciate you attention to this matter.
