Location: Clovis West High School Date: May 22, 2026…read moreService: Special Education Program Greetings this week my family and I have a pleasure of going to Clovis West high School to attend my child high school graduation a small ceremony with him and his other classmates. The special education program there is outstanding the teachers the support staff everyone is awesome they greet my son every day they communicate with me well which I did not receive in previous schools or school districts. In the beginning it was rough at first but once you get to know my kid and my family everything worked out well we're very hands-on Tell us what needs to happen and we will get it done to have a positive outcome. Thank you to Miss Christine Holst and to the principal James for making my child's experience at clovisworth high School a memorable one.

Terrible school do not send your kids here. Rampant racism, sexism and just about any other…read morenegative -ism goes unchecked by staff until it's escalated entirely too far. When you do bring issues to them they either brush it off or tell you nothing can be done until it escalates. I had a friend who got in trouble because she threatened a kid who kept calling her the n word and when we brought them proof they still harshly punished her and he got off w basically a slap on the wrist. I also had a bus driver call me a slut for literally no reason and when i gave them a statement with a witness nothing was done about it. They're just blatantly unfair to female students and students of color which is insane because it's a predominantly Mexican institution. They police the POC girls bodies but let the boys sag their pants and get away with so many things the girls could never get away with. I saw a kid wearing an "I support ICE" hoodie and when I brought it to their attention they said they're was nothing they could do about it yet they still dress coded the girls for spaghetti straps and shorts in 90+ degree weather. They have everyone fundraise money and a good portion of that goes to the football team that hasn't won a championship in literal decades. As a recent graduate I couldn't be happier to get away from this nightmare school and its negatively influenced me from recommending Clovis schools all together. Clovis schools try to act like they are way better than Fresno and Central unified when in all actuality they are 100x worse. While other districts might have a lot more fights, Clovis schools have way more scandals ranging from blatant racism to pedophilia to literal sex crimes and it all gets swept under the rug to maintain the "distinguished" facade they've tried upholding since the district was founded. I hope I will never have to come back to this school and I hope you don't send your kids here either.

The front desk support staff is fantastic, and all meetings are a two-for-one because it grants access to Clovis North (high school) and Granite Ridge (middle school). The staff and volunteers are friendly, and you can tell they care about the students. I have always felt welcome on campus, yet (justifiably) under the watchful eye of the administration. And I consider taking ardent safety seriously a huge plus. The campus is beautiful and clean. I wish there were more trees for shade (this coming from a day that was 108 degrees). But, overall, CNEC is awesome.

You're required to ask just to use the bathroom, which feels unnecessary since it should be basic. You only get 5 minutes per pass and 3 passes a day, which is extremely limiting. Even being late a couple of times in a whole semester can get you detention, which feels over the top. A lot of the staff come off as disrespectful, and the overall environment feels negative and strict rather than supportive. The social atmosphere isn't great either, with a lot of students being judgmental and insincere, which makes it hard to feel comfortable. Overall, it feels like the school is more focused on enforcing rules, grades, and achievements than actually supporting students or creating a healthy learning environment. If someone has the option, going somewhere else would probably be a better experience.
