I hate to do this but Freddy's has always been one of my favorite fast food burger spots. I'd…read morenever had a bad burger there as the meat has always been smashed perfectly and has that crispy outer side. I always order the original burger with cheese and fries. My wife and I went here two days ago and I ordered the original double with cheese and fries. My wife ordered the original single burger with onion rings. The order came out fairly quick as it wasn't crowded at all. We both noticed that the burger lacked the crispy meat that hung off the bun like always. Both of our burgers were just cooked, not crispy....and sort of like a burger at any other spot. The next surprise came when we picked it up and tried to take a bite. Mustard spewed out all over our hands and onto the tray. The cook must've slabbed on about 8 tablespoons of mustard or something. He probably threw the meat on the grill and didn't smash it or wait til it got crisp. The fries and onion rings were normal. I'm assuming they must've had a new cook back there that didn't know anything about how to cook a Freddy burger. I mentioned it to the guy walking around picking up stuff. Attention to the management...you need to check your cooks. I"m thinkg this cook must be very new or hasn't been trained. First time I've ever had to give them a bad review. It really should be 1 star based on this past experience.

PROOF Alcoholic Ice Cream is a local product of Columbia, SC. It's sold in Lowes Foods, Total Wine,…read moreand other stores in the Carolinas, Georgia, and Florida. At my local Lowes Foods, it retails for about $10 a pint, which is pricey for a pint of ice cream but fair considering the cost of an alcoholic slushy or milkshake. I tried a few flavors, and here are my thoughts. Peppermint Moonshine: I opened this pint expecting chunks of candy cane or visual hints of toppings, but it looked like vanilla ice cream. As soon as I tasted the first bite, the mint and moonshine kicks were there. I added some chocolate syrup, and this tasted like boozy peppermint/dark chocolate bark. Chocolate chips would pair well, too. Pistachio Rum: Like peppermint mocha, this flavor looked like vanilla ice cream, but it definitely had a boozy kick and a hint of nut flavor. I ate about half the pint in a sitting, and I could feel it about 20 minutes later, whew. I didn't add any toppings to this one, and it tasted like a more neutral flavor than the peppermint (which was very minty). Apple Pie Moonshine: This was my least favorite of the four pints I tried, but I'm not really a fruity dessert person anyway. It looked like the other flavors. There was a subtle hint of apple but not an overwhelming fruity flavor. This tasted less "boozy", too. Bourbon Caramel: This was my favorite flavor of all four. The bourbon and caramel flavors came through without tasting boozy. I feel like this would pair well with a chocolate dessert like a brownie or cake. If you love cocktails, desserts, or ice cream, give PROOF Alcohol Ice Cream a try. You can buy it at some grocery stores which means it's available even when South Carolina's ABC/Liquor stores are closed too- win win!
