I visited The Pancake House twice during my recent visit to Sherwood Center Parcs. The first visit…read morewas as expected - the food was delicious, the service was decent. We enjoyed the New Mexico pancake, which I'd definitely recommend - great flavours and very filling. On my second visit, we were seated immediately, and decided what to order within 30 seconds. Unfortunately no one came to take our order, and we had trouble flagging down a staff member due to the position of our table behind a partition wall. Eventually, a lovely staff member named Lynne came over, advised she'd seen us sit down a while ago and was sorry that we hadn't been served. She immediately told us our meal would be free of charge, and continued to serve us very quickly for the rest of our visit. I had the Cookie Monster pancake, which was delicious but, again, very filling - I'll likely have the smaller portion next time. I would always recommend The Pancake House, and will take advantage of their great food every time I visit Center Parcs.

We got our food rather quickly but over 5 of our party members received cold food (we all ordered the beef Bourgnon) and when the manager was notified he gave us our meals on the house and a complimentary bottle of wine. We left the restaurant and went over Hucks next door. The food at Hucks is good quality and the atmosphere is very warm and friendly with many families dining and enjoying. Would not recommend this Cafe Rouge to anyone who is looking for nice hot food.
Despite all the fancy trappings and 'French' styling this is basically a run of the mill cafe…read morecatering to those with more money than sense (although to be fair it is in keeping with other businesses within the Center parcs complex). My waiter was friendly and did his best to answer my queries and he had the right balance of when to 'bob' over and when to stay away. I ordered a full English breakfast which had all the necessary bits plus herb potatoes and, as a whole, it was ok but let down by eggs which were so runny the white was still clear in places. It seems that if you give a full English breakfast a french name you are entitled to vastly inflate it's value. I paid nearly £9 for a breakfast I would normally pay £3 to £4 for elsewhere and there was certainly no proportionate increase in portion or quality. The latte I had was small and of poor quality so I couldn't recommend it at all.
