This is a legit location for rock hounding. We came up here with the family to find our own geodes. It was a great trip. Here are some of the goods and bads: Good 1. Awesome geodes, killer shine. 2. Easy to dig up. Just bring a shovel and bucket. 3. Family friendly. Other families are on site, traveling to and from. 4. Dog friendly. You can bring your pups here no problem. 5. It's free. Just pay to get out there and the fun is for free. Bads 1. What a drive. Be prepared to leave early, bring spare tires and maps. We left at noon, blew a tire, got a little lost and arrived with an hour of sunshine to dig. 2. It's dirty. Bring water and towels. There will be dirt. 3. Nobody runs this thing. You got questions? There are no experts here, hope that one of the other visitors can help. Overall, a fun trip for a family. Expect to take all day on this adventure.
