Absolutely essential for anyone visiting the city. There isn't much in terms of retail, but as a purely nostalgic experience, Duddingston is what it's all about.
Food can be found in the form of Edinburgh's oldest pub, the Sheep's Heid Inn, and damn fine food it is. Worth the five stars alone.
Sights come in the form of the Duddingston Kirk, behind which you can find Dr. Neil's Garden, a treat for all the horticultural boffins out there. Further still you'll find Duddingston Loch and Golf Course under the shadow of Arthur's Seat.
All in all this is an hour well spent if you're only in the capital for a short period of time. read more
