Good Food, But Poor Organization and Website The food itself was actually good -- no complaints there. But everything else? That's where things fell apart. Matthew, you were right -- and unfortunately, I ended up losing points because of the disorganization and the website. The site was so confusing and poorly designed that I had to rebuild it myself just to make sense of it. That's not a great look for any business. You seriously need to improve across the board -- not just the food. Your organization is a mess, your website is hard to navigate, and the overall experience feels rushed and unprofessional. If you don't fix these issues, customers won't stick around. Also -- please make sure the food is clean. No one wants to find hair in their meal. That's an instant deal-breaker. If this continues, people are going to take one look at your website or food and say, "What is that?" -- and walk away. You have potential with the food, but everything else needs serious work. Get better. Get more organized. And if you do, people might actually come back. read more

Get a better website, I had to redesign yours and I have been doing HTML and CSS for only a dozen or so weeks; mine looked better. Actually my whole class had to redesign your website and most of them are better. We have no javascript experience. Most of our CSS comes from on the fly ChatGPT. A staple on US Highway 2 in Havre for over 40 years. And friendly service in a comfortable place hasn't changed since my first visit in 1984. Today the Duck Inn has a soup and salad bar at lunch--which is clearly popular. I opted for a table overlooking the highway. And chose what has always been good here--the burgers. BTW the Duck has a BIG menu. My bacon Gouda burger was cooked to order, zesty and tasty. And the side of fries was above average. Quality, quantity, fair prices. Easy to find. read more

Loved it! We came in town for a family get together and ate here twice. Both times the food was amazing! You can tell the food is fresh, well cooked, and flavorful. The first time I got a hamburger and fries. I don't remember the last time I enjoyed a hamburger at a restaurant this much! It was cooked just right- well done yet still moist and not dripping grease. The fries were perfect! The next time we went I got a Cobb Salad and it was a thing of beauty! I almost didn't want to eat it, but I am so glad I did. I ate every bite! Cheesecake. It has been a long time since I have enjoyed cheesecake this much! The raspberry white chocolate was amazing! So satisfying. Perfect balance of flavors and texture. So good! The peanut butter chocolate cheesecake is also so good! Great balance of both flavors. You've got to try them both!! While camping in Havre went for a nice dinner at the Duck Inn. Prime rib on Friday and Sat. Night starting at 5pm. The meal was good. Came with soup or salad and a loaded bake potato. The clam chowder recommended by Terry the server was great and very filling. The atmosphere is nice. Lots of locals eating there which is a good sign its good food. The decor is very retro. Old booths and tables. We stat in the front dining area with the sky light and tree branches. It was well lit. The back part of the place has a casino and more dining area. The prime rib dinner was very good and tasty. $28 for the dinner, but it was a very large 10oz prime rib piece. Overall, it was very good. The booth we sat in was ripped but to be expected for such a well used area. I would recommend to anyone passing through Havre if looking for a nice sit down meal of prime rib. So I sat at the bar and ordered food so I could watch football. The waitress was very attentive and the service was good. So now when it comes to getting the food I ordered the special which was prime rib steak, your choice of a side and a salad. The salad consisted of iceberg lettuce one slice of cucumber 2 baby carrots and a few croutons plus your dressing. Havre, Montana is the middle of cow country and there should never be a bad steak. We ate here while in town for a College game. The interior is decent a combo restaurant casino. They have a bar and I ordered a wine. There selection was that of lower end wine but was fine. I ordered a chicken walnut salad it consisted of iceberg lettuce, one small carrot, one cucumber slice, a little chicken and a few walnuts for $12 dollars. It was disappointing. Everyone's meal was nothing we would return and eat. For $12 dollar salad I would like to be not going to buy something else to eat somewhere else.... In contrast the next day we ate at Murphy's Pub. Huge salad same price with lots of ingredients very good. Anyway Duck Inn is where I would go if there was limited places open. read more

Came here because it was across the street from where we stayed and it was the only thing open. It was actually pretty good. We had their gouda nachos, which were good. Nice and gooey with cheese and the flavors completely worked with the jalapenos on them. Then we shared their steak special with the 5 butterfly shrimp. The steak was flavorful and tender. The mashed potatoes that came with it unfortunately tasted like boxed potatoes and so did the gravy. The shrimp was perfectly tender and crispy. Our waitress was awesome and checked on us regularly. Would recommend going here for a nice casual dinner. read more

Choosing what to eat was a tough choice with such an array of options but I went with the chicken Alfredo and I was pleased with my decision. Although the salad bar was closed (due to Covid) the salad that came with my meal closely resembled what I would have chosen for myself. Classic iceberg lettuce, multiple crunchy croutons, shredded carrots and ranch dressing. The Alfredo itself was good, the chicken was cooked perfectly and the portion was huge! Excellent service too. I Didn't see reviews before coming and glad I didn't because I probably wouldn't have eaten here. Our server was great, very friendly and kept checking back with us. My husband had a salmon salad and I had the salmon dinner. The salmon was cooked perfect and had a shrimp sauce on top that was quite tasty. The fried potatoes were a little over cooked for my liking. I had a dinner salad with homemade lemon vinaigrette dressing that was excellent. They also serve a complimentary glass of wine which wasn't too bad. If I came back through this town I would eat here again. read more

Used to be a favorite spot. Last few times have been more and more disappointing. Last week we ate there and it will be our last, which is unfortunate since there are so few places to eat in Havre. My wife did not receive the salad or shrimp with her meal that she ordered and would not refund us more than the shrimp. Kitchen was closed at this point. We also did not receive or were asked about a single refill and we were there over an hour. This restaurant is definitely on the expensive side. The chicken Alfredo will run you about $15 dollars, and a salad will cost you about $12. It's a cozy environment, and my food was very tasty. Service isn't bad either, it's just an expensive restaurant and there are very little/ no other options in this particular area. Fresh from a trip to Sicily, I had tremendous expectations of what a meal should be. Lacking any fine dining establishments in town, I settled for the Duck Inn - Mediterranean Bistro; which, OBTW, is one of many casino restaurants dotting the town. I had the shrimp Alfredo w a glass of California Pinot Grigio. The pasta dish was served w a Texas sized garlic toast -- imagine that! Welcome back home, I guess. It was served on a plastic plate nonetheless. I passed on the toast but hungry enough to enjoy the grilled shrimp. The Alfredo sauce over angel hair pasta was a bit thick -- reminded me of the Mac n'Cheese I fed to my kids. For dessert, I wanted cannoli. Really! Not on the menu, but a chocolate Oreo desert was on so I settled for it. The coffee though was clearer than the water out of the faucet in the Best Western I'm staying in across the street. This coffee is at least 3 planets away from espresso. Granted it may take me a while to recalibrate my culinary expectations, tonight's dinner is a cold wake up call that I'm back home. read more
