My friends and I walked in to Humpin' Hannah's and heard, "You shook me all night long," being played from the back of the venue and made a bee-line for the dance floor. Their website says, "The Treasure Valley's high‐energy Top 40 variety band covers the best music from every genre and decade," and I'd say this description is pretty dang accurate! They aren't the kind of band that plays background music, this is the kind of band that grabs your attention and pulls you in to the fun! While my friends and I were dancing they covered music from Katy Perry to Kenny Loggins, ACDC, and Stealers Wheel. This was our first Opera experience. We went to see Die Fledermus on their opening night at the…read moreEgyptian Theater. We had fun dressing up and going our to dinner beforehand. The rustle and bustle of sneaking and dodging past past the crowds in the entry way could have been managed more, but alas we finally found our seats and ready for the performance to begin. The Opera was much like a cross between a symphony and a musical and all around entertaining. The singers also doubled as actors and good ones at that! I really enjoyed the live symphony playing as well, very talented musicians! Can't wait to attend my next opera!
