I am extremely fortunate that Mr. Simmons represented me for my particular (and NOT…read morestraightforward) issue. He was very patient in explaining things to me and what I could expect. He did not sugarcoat things and was very factual about what could happen in court, NOT to scare me or provide false reassurances but to tell me what I needed to know. He was TOTALLY committed to achieving the best outcome for me which I will say right now, HE DID! I am very happy about that! He was responsive to my emails, my texts, my phone calls and most important, the advice he gave me was spot on! He communicated with me as soon as he heard from the State's Attorney or to apprise me of the SA's offer and how he intended to respond after talking to me to get agreement. Then, when we were in court, he went above and beyond, conveying my story, and what he thought was an appropriate outcome. I was floored by his eloquence and the wisdom of his word choices. He had also advised me on what Judges want to hear in such a case as mine which helped me in preparing my allocution when prompted by the Judge. It was also there in the courtroom where I witnessed Mr. Simmons in his element and tapping into his vast legal experience. I learned SO much about the law (related to my issue), courtroom behavior, legal terms, even such things as how lawyers negotiate with the State and the Judge about, well, legal stuff. If I am ever confronted by a legal problem (NOT THE SAME ONE!!!! ABSOLUTELY!!), Mr. Simmons would be the ONLY person I would trust to handle it for me. Bottom line, he knows his stuff, he's competent, and it's apparent to me that folks in the court system (Judges, Bailiffs, State prosecutors, other attorneys, even police officers) in Montgomery County know him and respect him and his opinions. His fee was extremely reasonable, especially for all the work that was required in my particular case. So, Mr. Simmons does any EXCELLENT job and if you need legal representation, go to him!

Updating my review as Yelp did not allow the edit and instead of saying I would give a 1-star…read morereview, I meant I would give 0 stars. In light of my experience at this firm, I am hoping my review will help others who need an attorney. When I first found this firm, I saw all the positive reviews and thought that the service would match but I was wrong. At first, Brandon comes across as very knowledgeable and seemingly prides himself on communication but this quickly changed. After I signed the docs to hire him, my case immediately was given to a case manager. There were issues with services promised that were never completed such as letters of protection, consistent administrative errors on settlement documentation, errors in requesting duplicate records of medical records costing me duplicative, and unnecessary fees to name a few. Even after multiple attempts to get Brandon to address it, the issues continued. The most recent example is on my settlement documentation them listing out medical bills to be paid to providers that had no medical liens, why are you requiring them to be paid out of my settlement if they have no lien on it? And why aren't you communicating with me to discuss this first? There were just constant issues with communication and the more you challenge Brandon, the nastier he got. In one particularly egregious example, they claimed they did not get any of my medical bills reduced. I found this odd and called the places myself and was told that no one from the law firm ever reached out to discuss any medical bill negotiations. One place sent me an email that they never heard from Brandon or anyone from his firm, which I forwarded to Brandon and he completely denied it and tried to make it seem like I made it up. Both he and his paralegal contradict each other in emails and Brandon just keeps saying what a great job they are doing. If you look at their google reviews and even other reviews here on Yelp, it's obvious that I am not the only one with these issues. The most recent act by Brandon was after multiple attempts to get him to address my concerns that went unanswered, I made him aware I would be reaching out to the Virginia Bar for help with mediation. Knowing that I was doing that and knowing that he never responded to any of my emails regarding my concerns, he filed a lawsuit against me. To make matters worse, once I responded to the lawsuit and said that he needed to ensure that the document was correct before I would sign. He wrote me a nasty email back stating how big of a headache I was to his firm (so wanting the bare minimum of customer service and addressing my concerns makes me a headache..got it), he would give me two options. He would remove the legal fees of the lawsuit he filed against me if I would remove what he claimed were false reviews about him and his firm. He also added that if I even so much as THOUGHT about posting another negative review that it would become actionable OR I could sign the document with the legal fees attached. I said I'd sign the document with the legal fees attached because I was not removing my review or my right to think about a review in the future. He responds that he will give me two options for a date for court and will be pursuing attorney fees. So he gave me two options and didn't like the option I chose and so he is continuing with his retaliatory behavior. I have copies of all the documentation from the start until the end to prove everything I am stating. All I can do is give the facts of my experience with firm and let others know how I felt in my dealings with them. To me, there is nothing special about winning a slam dunk case with low policy limits. Customer service matters, integrity matters. If your client is saying there are concerns and missteps, address them. There is zero accountability with Brandon and you are labeled a problem if you expect and demand more than the absolute bare minimum from him. There are so many better personal injury attorneys in Virginia in my opinion, I can recommend a few that I met in this journey that I wish I had hired over this firm. If you would like their names, feel free to reach out!

A consummate professional who is articulate with the keyboard and in the courtroom, Jane is a gem of a human being when it comes to navigating difficult circumstances that require legal support. Jane is a great listener, who continually asks insightful questions, has a knack for getting to the facts and developing sound judgments often based on information that is incomplete or sometimes contradictory. A master tactician, Jane knows how to steer proceedings and negotiations effectively and she is highly creative when crafting closing arguments that are persuasive and compelling. Jane Rodgers has taught me a great deal about the nature of professionalism, about how to stick with a client and offer genuine and meaningful support and how to always keep sight of the end goal while enduring the inevitable bumps along the way. If you are looking for a legal practitioner who is empathetic, insightful, knowledgeable, honest and deeply committed to her work, look no further than Jane Rodgers.
