We hired this company to inspect a 1965 camp on Pattee Pond in Wnslow, back in April, 2019…read more Unfortunately 8 MONTHS later that we truly find out how rotted & In disrepair our camp really is!!!! Thanks to the lack of knowledge that these 2 men have! The extra loan funds we had borrowed for the cosmetic upgrades that we wanted to do, is now completely gone for major structural repairs....which was OVER 50k! It is a father & son "team"...I use that word loosely. The father wandered around aimlessly playing with his new inferred toy he got, which shows heat loss. The father proceeded to wander around in the different rooms more than once because he couldn't remember if he went in there! Our camp is only 950 sq ft! He was to busy complaining about staying up all night with a sick dog. He never took any real notes for the inspection report we were supposed to receive. Then his son runs around taking pictures in various spaces...attic, crawl space...etc but that's it. We certainly understand & feel bad about his sick dog but we paid him for a quality inspection service. If he wasn't up for the appointment then he should have cancelled. Then about his new toy.....I call bull shit! 2 out of the 3 waterside walls are completely rotted & lacked any type of insulation. What's really funny is that the father kept saying he couldn't believe that this camp was in such good shape & well maintained.....which he said is rare with buildings on the water because the waterside tends to rot!!! Seriously! WTH! If we had known about all of what we know now...we probably wouldn't have bought it or would have offered the sellers a lot less purchase price!!!! See attached photos. BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!

Confidence Building Inspections did a fantastic job with recent my home inspection. I had never…read morebeen present for an inspection and had no idea what it entailed. Making a home purchase is a significant investment and I knew I could put trust and faith in them. They proved to make this a good experience while educating me along the way on things I had not considered. They were prompt, professional, detailed and willing to provide guidance. They helped me uncover some items that could have been significantly costly in the long run if not identified up front. Confidence Building Inspections was extremely knowledge, well-connected and very personable. They helped me find additional specialists to obtain detailed quotes on the areas of concern that were uncovered. I had my report extremely quickly upon the conclusion of the inspection, which was impressive. I am so appreciative of the experience and would recommend them to anyone.

The inspectors, Aaron, Justin & a new employee whose name I don't recall, were prompt, courteous, answered all my numerous questions in great detail, & well-informed. The report is the most comprehensive one I have ever received. A few days after the inspection, Aaron answered even more questions & made me feel that I was his only client. Up-Country's comprehensive report helped me make informed decisions about buying this 1970s house. I highly recommend Up-Country & am grateful that I chose them to inspect my special home.

Thousands of dollars have already been spent just to address issues of major rot on the home's first floor exterior, rot that was obvious both by sight and touch. Mrs. In-law was impressed with the inspector and his report at the time but is obviously very unhappy now.

We put in an offer on a home and before we knew it were taking the next stpes towards owning a home. Our first step after signing was to have a home inspection done. Our realtor recommened Len and we agreed. He arrived promptyl, greeted us and gave us a qucik run down of what he was going to do. He invited us to follow him arround as closely as we want and to ask as many questions as we want. He already arranged for the radon air tests to have been and collected them at the time of inspection. Len walked through the upstairs, checking out closets, wall, electric outlets and more. He used a heat sensing camera to determine how well the house held heat and to check the insulation. He even climbed into the attic, with the ladder he brough, to see how thick the insulation was. He has a full box of tools to get the job done. He checked water pressure and temperture. He inspected and tested all of the appliances. He did the same for the woodstove and pellet stove. He then combed through the basmen including the boiler, furnace, hot water heater and flooring. He explained in detail all the things he was loooking at. He walked through the garage and the exterior, inspecting the stairs, decks, doors and hot tub. A day later we recieved his report. It included ltows of pictures, an easy to understand and well detailed guide of everything he found. He even made a suggestion for more thorough inspection of the roof. He was so easy to work with and his expertise in his field is eaasily evident. His price is slighlty higher than average but was well worth the extensive work he did. I would definately recommend him to anyone looking for an excellent inspector.

I recommend you look elsewhere as…read morethere are plenty of other people in this line of work who are very nice and easy to work with. With Dean, however, billing was a nightmare and he did everything he could to extend his work -- is he hungry or something? I hired him on two more visits (his idea), and on both times he seemed to be doing everything he could to keep extending everything. His report was boiler-plate copy/paste nonsense with pictures thrown in (90% of it was just pictures... thanks... I could have done that myself). On return visits (2!!) he basically did nothing but charged and got super rude about the whole thing. I have all emails, reports and bills to support this review if you're interested. Not happy with his effort at all and everything he did for me was utterly useless to me. EDIT 8/8/2017: I see Dean thinks this is a fake review. He clearly did not see the last paragraph, just above. I have invoices, several emails, and canceled checks to your company. My dealings with you were through a company. I'm happy to provide all this evidence to Yelp for verification. Too bad I didn't record the mean phone calls, too!

There have been a couple things inside the house I've asked him about as well. He's very knowledgeable about things, won't try and sell you on anything, and give you his personal opinion (if you ask for it). Great guy, easy communication, and reasonable prices. They sent someone to fix it and again said everything was all set. I found more proud screw holes and more exposed mesh. They came back again and seemed like they did everything so I paid in full. My first coat of paint exposed tons of "fish eyes ", small round voids in all the joints. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend using this company.
