.
I think this "D's" refers to the venerable "Durand's Cafe" on West Port Street.
If so, this lace is a real JEWEL of a "hole-in-the wall" small town lunch cafe, both take-out & dine-in.
There are usually 3 or 4 entrees and 4 to 6 sides, rotating weekly menu.
Everything here is excellent, but be warned that some choices can be loaded with salt, hot pepper, or sugar. Indeed, this little town is famous for both cane sugar & hot sauce, and is only 30" from big salt mines nearer the Coast.
Suggestions are fried pork chops on Tuesdays, meat loaf on Thursdays, or either crawfish etouffee or shrimp stew on Fridays. Sundays, there are 4 choices of BBQ meat & the usual regional sides. Closed on Saturdays, but oppen Monday Noontime.
Values are super. Portions are often very large; we split one take-out lunch, and still have left-overs.
This place is a twice-a-week lunch destination for us.
Don't you dare miss Durand's !
