They seem to have remediated the mildew smell but they…read morereplaced it with an even worse chemical smell from the products they use in the wall and window frame, which persisted for months. They are very bad about responding to texts and emails, and they do not answer their phone. We finally got them to come out to address the odor, but they did not succeed in fixing it and the owner did not show up for a scheduled appt after that. We had to consult with the company that makes the chemical (OdorX) to help us remediate it ourselves: this meant taking down sheetrock, removing all the insulation, and rebuilding the wall and window trim ourselves. The owner, Michael, has ghosted us (except for one unprofessional and inappropriate text after we filed a complaint with the NJ BBB); so much for our warranty! We would definitely not recommend this company.

So I chose Powerpro Carpet Cleaning and I couldn't be happier with the result. Firstly I must mention that Rich who came to do the job was courteous and very thorough and took NO shortcuts, after he was finished my carpet looked almost brand new and that's quite an accomplishment with 15 year old carpet that had never been cleaned before. I also regret agreeing to pay in full up front, which I now know is a red flag in general. If you work with Brian, some questions you may want to ask: * Will you take any measures (at all) to protect surfaces that are not the floor, like painted walls, trim, cabinets, light switches, doors, sinks, and millwork, or should I expect to find wood stain smeared on the first 1/2" of all vertical surfaces where they meet the floor and fingerprints/smears pretty much everywhere else? * If you stain things that are not the floor will you remove the stain if possible or otherwise fix the damage if not? * Will you stand by your installation work, or are there situations in which you will not guarantee that the floor will not cup, move, gap, bow, sink, etc? * Is there anything you are not mentioning to me now that you might offer as an explanation for poor results after the job is complete? * Does the quoted fee include the entire area under discussion or are you waiting to tell me about another fee? * If you subcontract the job, will I be dealing with you or with your subcontractor? * What will you do in the event that your subcontractor damages my property, eg puts a 12' long scuff down the face of a brand-new wood cabinet with a sander? I had 2 mold experts and a licensed contractor say it was ServiceMasters fault for not removing enough and ServiceMaster came in and said it wasn't their fault, which was expected. But Michael went so far as to create a narrative of completely separate water issue that I was "lucky" they found because of the first water issue. Complete BS. Sadly, insurance took their word over 3 other professionals. I will NEVER use ServiceMaster and suggest you don't as well. They are masters of nothing!!!
