So I had Mike Holmes choice for waterproofing contractors come to quote and they come in at $28,000.00!! I then contacted Collen Bowen (general manager) of BFR asking why the discrepancy. He promised to be out personally the next mday to find out why. Needless to say, one week later, no response. I guess they prey on people who trust that Mike Holmes knows who is trustworthy in the industry. My advice, shop around. Not everybody has the luck of having Mike Holmes paying for their problems. The stones we had put on our front stairs were failing after 15 years and there were a number of bricks starting to break down on our over 40 years old house. While deciding on the scope of the job Behtash was consistent with prompt responses and information. The basement waterproofing was done by Ade, Shy and Vandyke. During the project they noticed a potential problem in the same room unrelated to their work. The team notified me and even paused while they had a specialist stop by and check it out. This was above and beyond and extremely helpful. The second project was my front steps. Over the years the cement steps cracked and started to settle into the ground. The concrete repair team fixed this quickly, with excellent results. Andrew and Russel took the time to confirm my expectations of the job and answer any questions I had.
