Repairs on roof completed 2 years ago, which included fixing loose slates. I had to call them back…read morea short while later as a few slated had slipped. Fast forward to 8 weeks ago and we had a leak in the bathroom ceiling. I spoke to Lee, and he asked me to call back on the Monday as he'd have a better idea of availability. I left a voicemail on the Monday, as no answer to call, and recieved no call back. 4 weeks further on, when we had monsoon like weather, and water marks start to appear on the ceiling of our top hall. We tried phoning, texting and e mailing and recieved no response. The work was guaranteed for 10 years. Our son in law went into our attic, and daylight could be seen in 4 separate places. We'd bo choice but to get another roofer in ( local and recommended. Should have done this in 1st place). He took several photos of the roof which he said was shocking. The tiles they had replaced ( obvious as different style to rest of roof) hadn't even been nailed in!!!! The flat roof they'd replaced had been walked on whilst hot , he said, as could see footprints in it, shortening its life span, and the rubbish from the old flat roof, had been thrown onto our adjoining neighbours roof!!! We ended up taking legal advice and sent a letter via e mail, and recorded delivery, advising them that action would be taken if they didn't respond and make good on their guarantee. Checkatrader have informed us today that they are no longer trading under Probuild but under Roof and Buildings and therefore our guarantee is null and void. Disgusting, immoral trading, and God only knows how many others have been conned and cheated out of money.

The whole back of the house is glass and our wildlife friendly garden is full of birds. Ahem. Enter the Edinbirgh Gutter Cleaning Company. I've seen professionals cleaning windows before but I always assumed that it wouldn't be affordable to get our mega glass bonanza cleaned. I am so so so so glad I asked Paul for a quote because wow was I wrong. Not only was was it so incredibly affordable but ohmygoodness was it such a better job than we have ever *ever* done ourselves. Paul said he would arrive at lunch time and that it would take about an hour. He arrived bang on 12 and took 57 minutes. It was no fuss, and he ended with a bit of banter with The Man as well as explaining that the remaining marks on the windows were glue from the installation process, saying that next time he would bring a tool to get that off. The Man, who has been known to never pay anyone for a job he can do himself, spent the rest of the day making comments like "look, you can see the garden!" and "look at them glisten!" (I'm not exaggerating, he actually said that). His delight with the results trumps his inner cheapskate, which is serious praise. Thank you so much, Edinburgh Gutter Cleaning Company.
