I've been to New Orleans a dozen times over the years, so I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about the basic history of the city. Drink and Learn was a great way to learn more about the history and some of the famous drinks. It was just long enough that I felt like I got my money's worth, but not so long that I got bored. The drinks were tasty, but be warned you will be mixing lights and darks, so if your tummy doesn't take well to that, be prepared. Also, make sure to eat before the tour. What a great tour !! We did this tour on a Sat morning at 10 AM. Not too early for a cocktail ! The meeting place was actually a great little cafe that we would consider trying. Vacherie. Meetup was easy. Elizabeth couldn't be more personable, friendly and knowledgeable. This is a great endeavor for her. Each participant gets a small insulated bag with 4 drinks (and a water) inside. She tells you when and which drink to get out during the 2 hour tour. Everyone is super friendly..........more so after about the 3rd drink. LOL !!! We had such a good time. I booked Elizabeth for her drink and learn tour for my bachelor party of 17. I was looking for an informative historical tour of both the city of New Orleans and also of alcohol as me and my boys are very interested in both. She absolutely knocked it out of the park. I can remember only one other tour in my life out of hundreds where I felt similarly wowed (an architectural tour on a boat in Chicago). Her knowledge of the subject matter was immense and allowed her to pivot and answer in depth whatever tangential questions we threw her way. Her oratorical delivery was engaging and held everyone's attention for the full two hours, even the lame dudes not interested in history. Of particular note was her line by line retelling of a Senator Soggys playing both sides stance on whiskey, especially amusing to us since one of the boys nicknames is Soggy (don't ask). We also got to take a picture of all of drinking in front of the Supreme Court of Louisiana, which is actually completely legal (what a city!) Which leads me to the drinks themselves. One might think they would be watered down to be provided to such a large group at 1030 am. Wrong! They were very tasting and got our buzz going strong to start the day. I somehow had never had a sazerac before and now it will be one of my go tos at the bar.
