New York sour hellooooooo
Brighton F.

Ladies and gentlemen boys and girls children over the age of 21, you don't want to miss out on this perfect lounge. Leo is the most kick ass bartender you'll find in salt lake, I'm serious. His New York sour changed my life just now and I don't even like alcohol. Makes an insane espresso martini as well, and a stellar cosmo. There's nothing about this bar that I would change. I feel blessed sitting in this spacious booth surrounded by my closest friends right now.

Rooftop hangs
Lo M.

If you're anything like me, you relish in a rooftop hang. Drift Lounge has the best of both worlds with a stunning interior and vibey rooftop! It's located in the developing Granary District and adds such a wonderful touch to the neighborhood. Their cocktail list is super creative but a little pricey, which was okay with me since the atmosphere was well worth the visit. Being attached to the neighboring food hall, they serve tons of food options with a little bit of something for everyone. Drift Lounge also hosts various events such as trivia, drag brunches, and live music performances! This is definitely going to become one of my new hangout spots in the city!

I really wanted to leave because it was taking too long just to place our order for drinks, so that was already a red flag for me. As soon as I told my husband let's get ready to go, the server came to take our drink order. I should have gone with my instincts then and left. The reviews were good at this restaurant so we wanted to try it out. It took a while for us to order our food after ordering our drinks because the waiter just took a long time--no surprise there. Once we received our food and the food arrived, upon sight I could tell my crawfish etouffee wasn't going to be good. I eat this meal a lot and I could tell by the color of the roux that I wasn't going to enjoy it, but I remained optimistic. You know looks can be deceiving! What I did not expect was that the food was going to taste as awful as it did!!! It was almost to the point where it wasn't edible. I probably took a few bites and didn't touch the rest. I gave my husband some and he said it wasn't good at all. The alligator cheesecake was such a cleaver idea and cool concept, but it just didn't taste good either. I hate to say this, but I wouldn't recommend this place at all.

I had high hopes for locally brewed beer and Asian cuisine, but nothing really hit the mark. Beer was okay. Lukewarm, and decidedly not crispy nor refreshing. Our group was three and we tried a lot of the food on the menu and nothing really hit. The pickled cucumbers were good. The dumplings (which we were told by our server are handmade) were genuinely flavorless and the wrapper was way too thick and chewy. We tried the pork buns as well, same issue, a serious lack of flavor and seasoning. Pork belly entree was middling, just a flavor profile that didn't work. I had the fried chicken sandwich and it was fried crispy but the sauce and toppings were unmemorable and lacked any kind of punch or umami to speak of. It came with a side of food service fries, which were crispy but served with plain old ketchup. Oh by the way everything is expensive. Starters were $15+ and most entrees, including noodle soups were $20+ which is crazy. Cocktails were $18 and no wine pour less than $16. The only thing cheap is the beer which makes sense because it was mediocre at best. Server brought the check, said "no rush" and then we waited while he sat three tables, brought drinks for three tables and took two food orders. After 15 minutes I took the bill to the till and had him run it in front of me. I still tipped because I'm not that person. Not going back, there's better beer and Asian food elsewhere.

Started with the fried chicken... good spice but overcooked...slightly tough and some pieces overpowered the spice. Next stop was the dumplings... porky juicy goodness, our best pick! And to round out the event was the crab Rangoon dip... it just didn't work. I sooo wanted crab rangoons after having this. Ambiance is worn out beer dive, service was spotty at the bar, and prices were in line with the area. Not impressed, and the beer was average.

Clean and polished look to it. I biked, there is rack very close by. My husband drove; they validate the air garage right next to the restaurant. We sat on the patio, which is quite lovely. The pizza was the Level Crossing. Instead of roasted peppers it had a yellow and green bell pepper combo it. Our server said the menu is being updated and this is the new ingredient. The pizza is crispy and delicious! I also tried one of their newest lagers, I forget the name but crisp and clean taste. They have NA beer (Athletic) if that's your thing. We visited at least two, during our four days in SLC. This one was the first: a cathedral-style brewpub with a sports bar aesthetic, with decent food, decent drinks, decent service, and decent prices. Everything was decent. You're not likely to be disappointed by anything you order, but you're not likely to be blown away by anything, either (another thing Squatters has in common with McMenamins, I'd say). During our second visit (to another location, but I'm sure the same rule applies), our party was only interested in ordering drinks (one per person, mind you), but we were informed that we *had* to order some sort of food to accompany them (I'm sure this is more of a Utah thing, rather than a Squatter's thing, but still annoying), so bear that in mind if you're looking for a place to just chill with a beverage and watch a game. Still, the vibe here is lively and friendly; assuming your server is as well, which was a coin flip, in our experience. For a fast, casual chain of brewpubs, Squatters has a lot going for it, and I can see why they are popular, as clearly as I can see ways in which they can improve. A little more focus, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence, and Squatters could absolutely dominate in SLC, and beyond.
