**1 Star -- Disappointing Service and overpriced **…read more As a returning customer of Burgess Pumps I expected to be treated fair. I called them after we had a situation arise with our well. During the initial visit, the technician inspected the well with a flashlight, took photographs, marked a large circle on the ground, and instructed me to dig a four-foot hole before the issue could be diagnosed. After digging the hole, the technician repaired a broken PVC pipe and then instructed me to dig an even larger hole because the well casing appeared to have a hole. I was then told that the casing appeared to be rotted all the way down. Burgess Pumps installed a temporary repair and advised me to contact a well-drilling company about digging a new well. Before considering that expense, I obtained a second opinion. I was told that the issue can be addressed by digging deeper and replacing the rotted section of casing. The estimated cost was approximately half of what I had already paid Burgess Pumps for their band-aide repair. The differing recommendations and estimated costs were concerning. Based on my experience, I recommend obtaining a second opinion.
