Specifically, I dealt with Jason Brandt, and if you can get him, you will be in very good hands on every level. I live in a duplex with a sizable crawl space. There is one small space at the front of the crawl space where ground water seeps up. I had been told by the builder and two plumbers to "not worry about it" and "leave it alone" because it was "no big deal" but I was not satisfied by their answers. It might be a small amount of water but it was at the foundation and consistent and the builder was supposed to have put in a perimeter drain, so why wasn't the water draining? When I needed a professional to address this water problem, I had already ruled out everything other than ground water that the builder had not addressed. It was a small amount of water but it needed to be handled. The builder did not bother to dig a sump pump pit (never mind install a sump pump) and no one could locate the perimeter drain outlet so it was an open question. After getting a number of referrals to vendors who handle this kind of work, I made the round of calls. Many vendors were unable to respond due to heavy workloads and said they could not get to it for weeks or months. Some simply did not bother to respond at all. One made an appointment to come and then did not show up, refusing to even look at the work. Finally, I got a referral to Restoration King from my local neighborhood Facebook page. From the start, Jason Brandt at Restoration King was simply wonderful. When I first called him, I was still investigating. Jason made an appointment and within just a few DAYS came over and looked at everything. I informed him that I might be taking legal action against the builder and told him everything I was doing and still needed to do. I enlisted his assistance to help me in any way he was able and he was willing to so do above and beyond the call the duty and he did! Jason approached the problem meticulously and what I appreciated a lot, treated my house with respect (kept it clean). In the crawlspace, he verified the ground water problem just as the soils report indicated and he also could not locate a perimeter drain. Jason was the only one to point out that mold was beginning to form in caissons around the struts, still minimal but a problem that would grow. I asked him for mold testing and mold remediation and Jason made plans for both. He schooled me in contacting the building department for help in locating the perimeter drain, if there was one (there was). He helped me find a company to scope the drain when I was unable to find one on my own. When the scoping yielded only partial results (due to how the drain was installed), Jason undertook digging in the critical spot to see if there was any evidence of the drain where the water was actually pooling to ensure I had complete information. Turns out the drain was installed well ABOVE the water line (hello, builder?). Finally, Jason made a plan to install a French drain inside my crawlspace along with a sump pump to address the problem completely, once and for all. Restoration King under Jason Brandt completed four jobs for me: mold testing, mold remediation, dig to locate the perimeter drain, and the very large job installing a French drain and sump pump in the crawl space. As I stated, Jason also helped oversee the drain scoping, helped with the building department, and answered countless questions and concerns. During the physical jobs, on every occasion, the work was done quickly, very professionally, and extremely cleanly. I am very squeamish about dirt and had nightmares going into this since my crawlspace entrance is in the walk-in closet, located in the master bathroom, located in the master bedroom (who came up with that idea?). Jason and his crew built a meticulous plastic barrier from the deck to the crawlspace for access and I was even able to secure that space at night. When the jobs were done, on each occasion, I could not even tell that the crew had been there, they cleaned up so thoroughly. My crawlspace now looks many times better than it did when the house was brand new. The drain and pump work beautifully, the crawlspace is dry and clean, and I feel safe and happy again in my home. The outside dig was filled in again so perfectly, you cannot see there had been any disturbance at all. The crew were friendly, wonderful guys. It was a pleasure to have them in my home. When you need work done on your home, it is a stressful endeavor. In my case, by the time I found Jason Brandt and Restoration King, I had already been through the wringer and was wary. It was fantastic to find people who come in and handle the job from top to bottom with integrity and professionalism, treating both the home and homeowner with respect, and doing such a wonderful job on every occasion. I cannot praise them enough.

Overall, I am very happy with the quality of the flooring install and the leveling. The other company tried to charge $9,500 whereas, for the exact same materials, HFS only charged about $7,100. HFS also communicated clearly and was always on time. There were two small issues: a sealant spill on my patio and a transition issue into the bathroom from wood to tile. HFS worked for hours to mitigate the sealant spill stain, and they provided a high quality transition strip into the bathroom at no cost. I would absolutely work with HFS again in the future.

The staff at the office were very patient in providing multiple stain samples for us to take home since we wanted a custom color. We are very happy with the color and it matched to the sample provided. Great salesman, but everything after the fact was awful. Was told at signing that work would start…read more4-6 weeks out, and at 8 weeks they said it would be another 3+ months. I escalated until they finally said they could make it work. Work was okay, but not nearly as detail oriented as I'd expect, given the premium price associated with their bid. Simple things like columns way off center from poured concrete footers (one was hanging OFF the footer - I made them redo that one). A year later, we had some staining on a few of the deck boards. This was most likely from some unrelated painting we had done, and I reached out for a quote. The rep came and confirmed it was a simple job, 2-3 hours max for a single rep. More than 2 weeks later and I still haven't heard back from KBC. I called 3-4 times in a week requesting a call back, and never got anything until finally an email. Their "unofficial estimate" was $4,200 stating it would take 2 men 2 full days to replace the boards. Mind you, the boards are on the end, the job couldn't be simpler. Why the disconnect between their field man and office? My best guess is they're price gauging because they either don't want the work, or think the painters will cover the cost. Either way, super shady. I talked to 2 other decking companies out of curiosity, both were 75% cheaper than KBC's estimate, and one even said they would have "goodwilled" the labor to me, only charging for materials, because it was such a simple repair so close to the completion of a larger project. For the record I still never received a call, as requested, from Angela. I would stay away from Krueger Brothers because it seems once they have your initial deposit they stop caring about you, and no care is given to customer satisfaction or loyalty. Attached are the photos of the very lightly stained boards, 4 in total, that we were interested in replacing. $4200 and 32+ man hours for that LOL

Where to start? (search YouTube for Krueger Brothers/KBC for half a dozen videos of dangerous…read morematerials blowing off the roof.) First, if this company has done work for you, you might want to start by looking at the price of the work according to your insurance company, and what KBC lists on their permits. I hired KBC to do some Commercial and Residential work for me. They didn't pull valid permits for either. (can be found in the public PPRBD archives.) (the home work they just didn't pull a permit at all until the damage they did to the house was addressed. For the commercial work they listed the permit price as less than half the actual price, which according to PPRBD's building code means it's not a valid permit.) KBC would go on to list invalid permit prices, or do work without a permit multiple times on this same project. For the residential work, KBC put 7 nails directly through our main electrical panel, including hitting one of the two main wires feeding power to the house from the street. We found multiple locations with arcing inside the electrical panel afterwards. (see attached photos) For the commercial work, the work wasn't done to code, and had to be completely redone on multiple occasions. It should never take 3+ years for a 4 square roof to get done to code. KBC put 21 holes in the new roof, then did a terrible job patching the holes they made. (see photos) Eventually the coping which wasn't secured properly which KBC knew about for years blew off the building on a windy day. (see video) Not only was the work not done properly, but KBC repeatedly created hazardous conditions at the work site by not staging materials safely, even after specifically being reminded to secure their loads when staging. (see attached videos) A picture is worth 1,000 words, so I've added some videos of what you can expect from KBC. To date, this work on the commercial roof still isn't to code, but I've given up on KBC ever following through. This project started in 2019, and still hasn't been done properly. I even hired an outside engineering firm to help guide them when KBC was clearly out of their depth, but they wouldn't even follow up the written fixes from another professional. There are hundreds more photos and videos of terrible quality work done by KBC. If anyone would like to see more examples, please feel free to ask and I can provide plenty more. This is a small sample of the last three years of headaches and frustration. There are also half a dozen videos of materials heavy enough to kill a person falling off of the commercial property. KBC also took an insurance deposit to do work on our deck, then after months of delays said they wouldn't be able to do the deck for the price quoted, and then refused to return the down payment for the deck so I could hire someone else. Instead, KBC paid themselves with the deck deposit, supposedly for finishing the residential work. I came to find out when I started double checking everything KBC had sent me (after seeing huge red flags after they started working) that KBC had inflated their residential work numbers, to where they were charging me for over 700% more work than they actually did. (KBC did under 300 sqf of work on the side of the house, and charged for 2,000+) I was invoiced for permits that were never pulled. I was invoiced for work that was never done. I was told that materials used were code (they weren't). I had to contact the material vendor where I found out that the wood KBC used was not acceptable for fire code. KBC had previously lied and told me it was when I asked. Finally, although KBC was out this year (3+ years later) to work on the coping, I would like to point out that the issues with the KBC coping work had been pointed out in the 2019 engineer's report I gave them, but the coping issues were never addressed until a huge metal sheet blew off of the building on a windy day and almost hit someone in the parking lot below. The fact that over 9' of coping had never been secured to the building but the work still passed PPRBD's inspection process clearly speaks more to a lack of quality inspection.

Here is an update on the door from hell. We originally placed a 50% deposit on the door on June…read more16, it is now October 3. The door was delivered and installed Sept. 19 with a broken sidelight, which was replaced yesterday. Sept. 22 I emailed the project manager with a photo showing how I can slide a piece of paper between both sidelights and the door frame. I was assured the service technician could fix the gaps when he replaced the broken sidelight. Discussions with the service technician and manager revealed the door was improperly manufactured, causing the gaps. Also, the door frame was not square as evident by the differences in door clearances and rubbing. The solution they implemented was to caulk the door and install longer screws. When we purchased the door, we were told about how their quality control was much better than the factory. Also, we were told we'd receive a $250 gift card for the inconvenience, we received a $200 gift card. Nothing about this door has been the expected quality, correct, or professional. The door does not have the quality or integrity of a new door that was manufactured correctly from the start (which we paid full price for) and we have a damaged tree. I highly recommend avoiding this business. I will never buy anything from Liberty again.
