Doesn't even deserve 1 star... this is my very first review as I don't normally feel it necessary but this service blew my mind. This was supposed to be a 2 day job but they were in such a hurry to cut the time in half completing it in one day that they messed up the neighbors fence(which they corrected), they knocked down a tree by accident that wasn't suppose to come down but claimed they "had to take it down," (which is fine but it was clearly knocked over by the tree intended to come down. If they had to take it down wouldn't they have done it the right way? and they just left the giant trunk leaned over, never correctly fixed it). Destroyed the bushes they stomped over. The tree landed on the roof causing 2500 dollars worth of tile damage. They claim they didn't do when confronted at the time (the tree hit the roof so hard grandma went and checked the windows making sure they didn't shatter and it knocked down some soot in fireplace from last winters fires). As rain was coming she wanted to make sure the roof was ok and found it to be 2500 worth of damage. After a phone call to them stating the cost to fix the roof they claimed nobody informed them which was a lie as she showed them pieces of damage the tree caused at the time. In that same phone call when asking if insured they said they are and grandma asked what they can do about this damage they hung up on her. By her mistake she paid on site after the job was done. They took full advantage of her and refused to make things right. They lied to her through and through and tried to make her to be a liar stating she never told them when she clearly did. It breaks my heart to hear of people being taken advantage of and since this is my family I feel this review is 100% justified. Price is great but you get what you pay for. Grandma had to call someone else to come clean up their mess on top of paying for roofing. She learned a lesson...in the end she paid waaay more falling for this companies "reasonable price" when she could have paid a little more and probably had the job done right the first time. Accidents happen but that's why these places are insured and if you cause damage on someone's property it is your responsibility to make it right. I'm disgusted with this company. So sad... do better! read more

I've used Dreamland Tree Service twice now- once to trim a large tree and another time to remove a tree stump. We were able to get a discount on the tree trimming when going in with our neighbors to have two trees trimmed at once. They are so responsive and do such a great job! Fonzi came out and did the bid, explaining what they would do and why. We have a very large old elm that had been stumped in the past, instead of doing that again they did a preservation trim that will allow it to grow out with stronger limbs and a canopy. They trimmed 4 other trees as well. We were left with beautifully trimmed trees that let the light through but weren't scalped. They are organized, safe and respectful of property and worked well with our neighbor. When they left it was so clean the only way you knew they had been here was because the trees looked so great! Had a huge stone pine tree that was diseased and needed to come down (didn't want it to fall on neighbors house). Fonsi's crew came early with some serious equipment to do the job right. The 3 man team safely felled the tree, leaving us a 42" round table sized stump. It took them less than 4 hours start to finish. Their chipper was enormous, it turned 6"-10" round branches into sawdust in a matter of seconds. Then they cut the 24"-42" round trunk into 6'-8' logs, picking them up with a tractor with a huge powerful claw (I've only seen these at lumber mills). We wanted all the wood removed, and that is exactly what they did, even sweeping up all the dust. I have used 2 other Tree Services in this town on occasion, this was my first with Dreamland, and the others don't even come close to Dreamland's equipment, professionalism, and their service. We have 40 150ft. Eucalyptus trees on our property. One of them was growing in a way that it was becoming unbalanced. Three other tree services declined to even bid on fixing the problem because the branches involved were so big, and because they were right above a custom storage shed. Fonsi figured out how to do it. It appeared pretty complicated with all the ropes, pulleys, and men on the ground pulling on guidelines to make the sections of branch fall in the right place, but they did it, and without any damage at all in the yard. These folks are honest, professional, do what they agree to, at the time agreed upon. And they are nice to deal with. I recommend them very highly. read more

A couple of volunteer trees were removed quickly and efficiently; impossible to tell they had ever been there, and they had gotten big. One big, heavy limbed yucca had branches going over my shed (I ruined the roof of my shed the last time I tried to cut a limb) - not a problem for the crew. A big lemon tree that bears bitter, pithy lemons the size of grapefruits was turned into an ornamental piece and another fruit tree was pruned to be a healthy fruit-bearing tree. Without asking him to do so, he took it upon himself to look at our other Birch Trees and made recommendations to improve their irrigation. I will not use this service next time. They cost more than the previous company I used, but when the guy came to talk to me he said he was an arborist and talked about his process of cleaning the blade between cuts to avoid spraying the disease and not cutting the trees too much to avoid sunburn. He also said he was doing my neighbor's house the next Mon, which put pressure on me to decide immediately. So, I decided to hire him. They showed up on the expected day. First, I found out that he wasn't due to cut my neighbor's trees for several weeks. Then, I noticed my tree with the disease still had branches with the disease and the trees in the back were cut significantly, so the sunburn comment didn't mean much. My plants surrounding the trees were trampled and there were branches left in my yard. My neighbors also complained about the branches in their yards. When the company came to do my neighbor's trees I spoke to Fonsi and he said he was sorry....He had his guy come trim my diseased tree again. I noticed he was not cleaning the blade between cuts that was emphasized in his previous confrontation. I have also noticed the job they did on my neighbor's front tree still has disease. read more

We have used both Dreamland and Giant Tree for various jobs through the years. Our most recent job with Dreamland was for the removal of a large dead pine tree near our home. There was no access for a bucket so they carefully brought it down piece by piece using a climber on a rope and a crew that assisted in slowly bringing down each piece. We asked if we could keep the wood and they made sure the usable pieces were cut to a firewood length. They cleaned up the job site and left us a large pile of mulch from the chipper/shredder that we can use around the farm. They were not the low bidder, but from experience we have found that when you get good service from a company it is worth the extra money. read more

Dreamland Tree Service was recommended to me to help my ailing fig tree. It had a large branch break off when it was heavy laden with fruit, then was hacked back by someone else. By the time Fonzie came in July it looked like it wouldn't make it. He trimmed it, fed and deep watered it, and offered excellent advise on it's care. The fig tree came back and is now healthy and even set fruit! Fonzie came back just to check on it's progress! I was woken up at 6:30 AM this morning (a Saturday) by trucks using hydraulic lift equipment and high powered saws working in a multi-acre retention basin with Eucalyptus trees surrounding it. The noise was unbelievable. I got in my car and drove by the trucks to get the name of the company and phone number. I made a call and the phone was answered by a man who identified himself as the owner. While stating my complaint he simply hung up on me. This company clearly has no respect for the homeowners in the areas it services. I will be following up with our HOA etc., regarding this matter. read more
