At first glance I was amused by the shiny eighties wallpaper and black diner chairs, random pieces of furniture, tables that didn't quite go together, I honestly thought one of my friends had made a mistake and this was going to be some horrible experience that we all laughed about later. Boy, was I wrong, not only did I have a great time, the place was continually busy with party people coming and going: bachelorettes, birthdays, girls night, whatever. This joint definitely had something going for them. The two servers at the bar were courteous and polite and had no issues with any order. The song selection was great, but I have no idea how much anything was/is price wise because it was my birthday and nobody would let me pay for anything!

You pay for your room based on your time- essentially you rent it, so for an hour and a half the "small" room was $48. Outside food and drink is not allowed, but they have drinks for sale (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) or you can get a complimentary glass of water. While some of their song selections are outdated, they do have a fairly extensive selection including everything from pop songs to songs from the Philippines. Be warned: the odds are that people from other rooms can hear you (if their music isn't playing at the same time) so when you're in the middle of choosing songs, you can hear others in adjacent rooms... but it's okay! Kinda makes it a bit more fun. The rooms each have a tv for you to read off your lyrics, and they are lit by disco type lights, and fairly dark. There's a table in the middle and fairly comfy seating, kind of like a booth at a restaurant. We had a great time and would totally come back again!

I'm not sure how the atmosphere differs on a regular night, but for the Cirque en Blanc event, all the staff were dressed in corsets, bustiers, tutus and other "circus" attire. They have circus performers up on the stage at the front of the bar every so often which was fun, but while we were there the crowd didn't seem to be too into it. My favourite thing was the music the DJ played, though again, not sure how regular this is. There was a ton of throwback jams from the early 2000s which I loved. There was a promo drink being served by Russian Vodka that had cotton candy in it, and was fantastic. There are tow bars on the bottom floor, which has the dance floor and a stage. The upstairs housed a second bar, but as it was a roped off VIP section for the event, I didn't see much else. Negatives? Like most bars, the bathrooms were pretty gross, and they're downstairs in the basement, which is never fun. The flight of stairs could totally become a hazard after a few drinks, so watch out. The place is also pretty small, so I could see it getting crammed pretty fast, and as we went on one of the hottest nights of the summer, it was insanely humid. I'd come back here if some other friends wanted to go, but I'd likely head to The Velvet Room before I'd make the choice to come back on my own.

He also plays dance music between singers so that non karaoke doers can still have fun dancing. She was super excited and had one drink prior to us leaving to go to the place 30 mins drive away. When we arrived the bouncer asked us for ID (as normal) but looked very suspicious by the whole thing. He studied the whole ID front and back for a solid 60 seconds. (after reading some reviews this place has a history of mistaking real IDs for fake somehow) He then asked us for the 12$ fee to get in, so we went to get our cash. My sister was going through her bag trying to find the exact amount of change, while this guy is totally judging staring her down. It seemed like he was annoyed we were taking too long even though there was no line or anyone behind us. He then has the nerve to aggressively say that we are both too drunk to come inside. Which may I say has never happened to me before especially as I was sober and knew my sister was totally fine, as our night was just beginning. He just kept repeating "you're too drunk sorry next time" and would not even let us talk at all, so we just left. As soon as we walked in and walked up the flight of stairs to get to the door the man at the front was completely judging us and basically made up an excuse for us not to come in. From the get go he was looking for a reason to not let us in and I have no idea why. I assumed a place like this catered to being inclusive would be accepting of people but they really are not. I guess you have to be a certain type of person and fit their aesthetic to even go there.... Plus even if you're sober you'll be kicked out for being too drunk because they don't like your vibe.. yikessss. Yeah, I would not visit this place again even for events like the Drag Show.
