This review is long overdue but I'd be remised to not give it. Where do I start...
1. Her sick policy is VERY unrealistic and I think she makes it up on the fly. My son, like any 1 y/o, developed a runny nose while being in daycare. No other symptoms but she said because his nose runs every 10 minutes or less, he has to stay home until it's every 10 minutes or more. Y'all...WTF!? She got a stopwatch now?? I have a slew of friends with young kids and they NEVER heard such nonsense. Now let me be very clear that if my child is sick, I will drop EVERYTHING to nurse him back to health! Period. And I care about other kids' health as well. I'm a whole germaphobe. But calling into work because of a running nose is just not realistic for working parents.
2. She has explicitly told me how quickly she gets rid of a child if things become too much of a challenge (ie couldn't care for a 6 month old with toddlers so 6 month old had to go, little boy pushed someone hard so he had to go, etc). She does a terrific job with little girls as you'll see from the other reviews. Awesome curriculum and they love her. But if you don't have the ideal child, she'll figure out a way to push you out. She's very green and new to the game so she hasn't mastered this skill and rather admit to it, she puts the honest on the child.
3. Which leads me to the issue with my child. THE ABSOLUTE WORSE. She often would describe my 1 y/o as angry and exhibiting terrible 2s behavior very early. As a new mother, I felt bad and like she was shaming me and my child. I asked around and ALL of my friends said terrible 2s started for them as early as 11 months. Even other daycare professionals including where he is now said his behavior was perfectly normal. And for someone who had only been in the game for just over a year, it's baffling she would even make a conclusion like that. I know my child didn't like being stuck in a high chair or pack and play while she did circle/learning time with the toddlers and likely acted out accordingly. Which is VERY NORMAL. Babies like attention. And rather than admit she couldn't handle a baby in her program with all toddler girls that could talk, were potty trained, and on the same curriculum, she said my baby was ANGRY. Like who uses such an adjective to describe a baby!? It gets worse. Then she basically told me this was his temperament and she KNOWS my baby better than me because she has him in her care for longer than we do. Very untrue if you want to mathematically breakout the time in the week he's in my care vs hers. But doesn't matter. I've only been his mother his WHOLE life. I KNOW my child. Not you in just 2 months. The nerve. I just came right out and said if you don't think you can care for him and the girls, let me know and I'll move him (secretly, I had already made arrangements to move him the following month because I was done with her at this point).
4. Then comes the grimiest thing ever. She gets paid the beginning of the month. Starts this narrative that my child is sick for a few days when he wasn't. My husband, sister, and I were all like he has none of these symptoms at home. She just didn't want to watch him. She used my child to secure money for the month while she waited for 2 new little girls to start so she could push him out. Instead of admitting she was a failure and capable of caring for any child, she said he was sick (he wasn't) and used this as an excuse to push him out and said we didn't care about the health of other kids. All lies y'all. Then she went to the extreme on day 4 of the month before we were leaving for a trip to put FAKE SNOT on his face!!!!! I know this sounds crazy y'all but this was the LAST time my baby was there. I didn't even care I paid for the month. Or that he was starting at his new daycare the next month. I was gonna figure it out because a baby doesn't just sneeze yellow mucus ONE time in your presence, within 30 minutes of him arriving, and she texted me a pic like I need to come pick him up ASAP. Mind you, snot nose (which was fake), is NOT one of the reasons to immediately pick up your child like diarrhea, vomiting, fever, rash, etc. I was BEYOND pissed and waited that whole week to see if any mucus came out of my baby thereafter trying to not believe the worse but it didn't. I consulted with other parents, medical professionals including nurses, pediatrician, and a couple of friends who are doctors (anesthesiologist and OBGYN) and all said that's HIGHLY unlikely. I'm like full grown humans don't sneeze yellow mucus one time and that's it. I filed a complaint but they couldn't prove. But it's easy to make fake mucus with food ingredients. I googled it. And while extreme and unbelievable, I put nothing past her greed for money.
She has NO business in this field!!! I would never recommend anyone to use her services. read more
