ABF made an empty semi trailer available to me within 72 hours of my commitment, and then even allowed me to delay the delivery of the trailer within 24h before the delivery. They also allowed me ample time to load and then to simply call them hours before the cab came to pick up the trailer. Note that our driveway in Montreal was able to accommodate the 28ft trailer. In DC I needed to buy a $55 temporary parking permit for street parking. Although my goods arrived at the ABF warehouse in Maryland within two days, ABF held the trailer for another five days until I was ready to receive them. Key, I think, is to get the local dispatcher's contact info to help coordinate logistics directly, cause your otherwise dealing only with the national call center, which are really helpful, but can only get you so far. ABF was courteous, very flexible, reasonably priced, helpful, and very quick to get my goods delivered Stateside. This is the way to go as long as you are willing to pack everything yourself (and take responsibility for your own packing).

They lost some of our valuables, sent some stuff to the wrong city, and took ZERO responsibility. To call it a dispointment would be an understatement. The movers were very professional. One of them was particularly hilarious which made the move that much more enjoyable. They also hauled a 200 gallon fish tank up a flight of stairs which, if you have a fish tank and know what I'm talking about, is very impressive. They actually came in below the estimate. I was shocked when I got handed the bill - it was the cheapest move I have ever had. Hopefully I won't need to move for a long time, but when I do I will definitely call them. This estimate was given before we packed. He was paid by the hour, so it's not like he wouldn't get the full amount for however long he took to load. He had specifically told me he was bringing a 22 ft truck. He showed up with what looked like an 18 ft. He provoked an argument over us having one more dresser than was listed on our estimate, which was an outright lie. After about 30 minutes of him telling us what he couldn't/wouldn't do and us groveling with him to please start working and just do what was on the estimate sheet (he wouldn't even agree to just load what would fit on the truck), he told me to lose the attitude and he would get started. I checked the time because I was not going to pay for his 30 minutes of stalling. When I did this, he told me he was leaving. This guy is a horrible excuse for a human. Bailing on someone on their moving day is a deadly sin in my book. Avoid this company at all costs unless you have some pillows you want moved next door. Make sure to tell him the exact number and size of the pillows or he won't lift a precious finger.
