BEWARE...these people may be good with certain types of hair but clearly not all types. I went for consultation , scheduled my appointment , and paid nearly $700 . Immediately, when I left the salon I had concerns about how my hair was sectioned, but felt this may work out in my journey as I was in the starter loc "ugly" phase. As several weeks went by instead of swelling and locking up, my hair began to come loose which I also felt was normal, but the sectioning was still concerning me, so I decided to seek a second opinion. I went to another salon who informed me my locs were started with the wrong technique for my hair type/texture. Furthermore, the work which had been done on my hair wasn't even really interlocking, and agreed she didn't like the way the sectioning was done. She explained the best move for me would be to loosen my hair and start over.
I called them to see about a partial refund (as I am aware that time was spent mangling my hair) or if I could come in to have my hair loosened before I went to another salon to have it corrected, and they simply don't care and don't call back. Completely unprofessional and apathetic. I spent two days loosening the mess of my hair, and the spent 9 hours and hundreds more to have my hair fixed. I'm happy to report my new locititian was able to fix my hair but unfortunately I had to make concessions and she had to be creative to work around the breakage and damage that occured from this whole mess. I chose Dread Addix based off the Google reviews, but sincerely wished I had taken more time before commiting to being...well essentially robbed. read more
