Walking her was a lost cause due to her insatiable need to drag us behind her. We fully stopped trying when she was about 6 months old. Until then, a "walk" around the block is all we'd even attempt; it was too much. For her and us - we were all exhausted by the time we'd get home. So, although we taught her the basics: sit, down, shake, etc., we knew when it was time to throw in towel and ask for help. Many trainer reviews later, still feeling hesitant, I saw a family member's posts on her social media page about a trainer she met while walking her dog. We knew we had to get more info. I reached out to David at Kinected K-9 AZ, and we decided to meet up and get a feel for each other and see if our dog would be a good fit for his training. After giving us information about what he had to offer, we decided on his Advanced Training course. After a several long weeks, we've (yes, all of us) graduated! We could not be any happier that we have the tools and extra knowledge to help our sweet girl be the best she can be, while we're trying to be the best we can be for her (and our other pupper). She has made a complete turnaround in the walking department and has even learned new tricks while she was at it! He is calm, steady, good energy and handled our dogs so well. I am normally nervous to hand them over to a groomer but he was so competent and not at all nervous about handling our big dogs that I felt totally comfortable. I have a very large German Shepherd with lots of hair, and she needed her nails done, and as he was grooming her, neighbors were curious about this process and also watched her as she sat calmly getting her bath. Afterwards, she looked phenomenal! I learned a little while later, that James had also groomed one of my neighbors dogs and will be doing so on a monthly basis. I'm am very pleased with this service. I'm glad that I didn't have to try to stuff my dog in the backseat of my car and take her to a groomer, and then have to spend hours trying to vacuum out my car because the car wash place never does a good job! I cannot say enough good things about Diego--he genuinely loves his job and animals, and for over a year, he has consistently treated my dogs as if they were his own (which I feel is especially important for those of us with dogs who have unique, more specialized issues). This time around, I came to Diego with a dog who is absolutely terrified of car rides, with anxiety so bad she throws up unless she is heavily medicated before driving. She had been to the vet several times and we were told this may just be something she (and we) would have to live with--that she may never outgrow it--and that medications like Cerenia and Trazodone would be necessary forever. Fast forward, Diego worked one-on-one with her to help bring her car anxiety to a more manageable level & gave us tools to help her do better on longer trips. This is her, out and about on a trip to look for Halloween decorations about a week ago. Still smiling after a 30 minute car ride!! This never would have been able to happen before Diego stepped in and worked with her! My other dog has also progressed substantially with his leash reactivity since Diego showed us the tools and techniques to properly address it. I truly could not recommend Avecillas Dog Services more! It is an absolute MUST for anyone with dog training needs!
