I believe they share some tables with the neighboring restaurants though, since I saw our waitress go back and forth outside. We ordered the carne and another pizza, which I cannot remember the name. The food came out in about 15-20 minutes, so it didn't take long. Both pizzas were okay... The sauce, cheese, and toppings combined for a good pizza, not a great one. I was expecting so much more flavor for the price, as I understood the size of the pizza wasn't extravagant. The carne alone was $39 NZD. This restaurant was another one and done for me. Got to see what the hype was about , but I wouldn't come back.

Then we had the small sashimi and soy chicken. It's stated that the small sashimi is good for 2 people, but I could've eaten that all by myself. It came with 4 pieces of 3 different fish that was nicely presented. The soy chicken was good, but I was surprised it wasn't accompanied with rice. I was still hungry, and decided to go somewhere else after instead of ordering more here.

Craving a shabu-shabu or do you fancy a sashimi buffet? Well look no further because this place has…read moreboth on offer. The staff were really friendly the first time we came here and asked if we've been before as we sat down, probably cause we looked confused with the shabu shabu pot (our understanding coming in was that this was a buffet). So this is how it works: we get served a few to-share platters first (sashimi, karaage chicken and beef tataki) and each new dish gets brought out to you as they collect your last dish. Once your table is finished with these, they bring out a plate of raw beef slices and you can start your shabu-shabu! The rest of the shabu-shabu ingredients are in a self serve style/station on one of the tables which carries vegetables, tempura and noodles etc. - kinda like your hot pot ingredients. On the other table, there is the other part of the buffet which are the ready-to-eat item such as more sashimi (yey!), salads, ebi prawns, takoyaki, edamame, renkon chips etc...oh and my favorite, the fire ball salmon. Once you have sufficiently stuffed your face in, there is also a small collection of dessert and a soft serve machine....yep, all you can eat ice cream too if you made it this far. The service is excellent and the sashimi platter is refilled pretty fast since that is the first thing most tables go straight for once we ate the delivered plate. The other hot food are filled constantly and you can tell which are the popular items in this place. The staff are also really efficient at clearing our dirty dishes away. I highly recommend this place and think it's value for money as any fans of sashimi know that if you are ordering individual sashimi dishes, they start adding up pretty quickly. However do remember to book as they fill up fast!

We really love the owner and chef, who is always happy to tell us honestly what he thinks is the best choice out of two options, or on the odd occasion, create a new dish by combining two things we can't choose between (we've been there enough to now be classed as 'regulars', it seems). The decor is hilarious - great mis-matching paintings/photos/who knows and even an in-built disco light that will sometimes be turned on if you're there for a birthday. It's just ridiculous. And so wonderful. We definitely rate the pasta over the pizzas, particularly the chicken fettucine, but the pizza is good too. They have GF bases available also. All in all, is a great wee place for when you want to go out but feel like somewhere cosy and relaxed, rather than fancy.

Its owner is like a pot-bellied, soft-spoken version of Kramer from Seinfeld. Ive gone so often over the years that he's become a kind of friend. In the old days orders were often forgotten. He would come rushing out, hunched over, hands clasped together, begging forgiveness and offering to make the 'special' pasta. Ten minutes later he would bring out a meal big enough to make lunch with for the next three days. It's been a while since they've made a mistake. I miss them. His restaurant isn't the fanciest place in town. It doesn't have Michelin star service. But it's the place I go to if I'm feeling down. Sitting in that strange orange room filled with faded paintings of Marilyn Monroe, old car ads and what looks like a group torturing someone in a medieval village square somehow makes me feel better. The best time to go is while experiencing that worst of tragedies: A birthday. The staff turn on the disco lights that hang from the ceiling and the place becomes the best party in town. We went recently on New Year's Eve. The owner sat down with us and talked about his struggle to make ends meet. He wanted to do better for his staff and his business this year. I kept thinking losing Eduardos would be a minor tragedy. It's one of our last bastions of glorious amateurism; a shambles that somehow assembles itself into something beautiful every single night. Also the food is really good.
