Sometimes it's hard to find a decent pizza in a city, I know what your thinking, there's a pizza…read moreplace on every street in Birmingham! Well that might be the case but some just don't hit the spot. Too cheesy, too soft, too many hairs (I mention no names). But Frydays refuses to mess around, not only bashing out classic after classic pizza but also a great fish and chip shop? Believe the hype, this place is surrounded by massive chains such as burger king and pizza hut and there's a reason it stands strong it the corner of Birmingham's food court. Meal deals including pizza, chips and a drink for under five pound, got places for you sit inside and out, actually thinking about it they served me an amazing kebab once when I was sitting in on a very fancy plate. Felt really nice to eat it, took the time to make it look all posh. These guys make me happy every time I see them. I feel like this heart attack I'm bringing on my self by getting excited about fast food places will be worth it.

This establishment immediately caught my eye through wit alone, and I will admit that upon reading the name I actually stopped what I was doing and SHOUTED my laughter, bent double in the street (ultimately scaring my poor girlfriend, who does not quite get the joke as well as I do) as tears streamed down my eyes. You may have seen me all throughout Birmingham, I drew quite a crowd! Absolutely excellent. I recommend Fryday's to anyone with even the slightest idea of what a joke should aspire to be. You may have noticed I have not mentioned the food. Sadly, I was not able to control myself enough to actually enter Fryday's to sample the menu, but I am confident in assuming it is absolutely delicious - of course, it would have to live up to it's name: I would hope everything is, in fact, fried! (If anyone could confirm this for me, it would be much appreciated.) I have had to detract one star, as on the day I came across 'Frydays', it was not actually a Friday - this is unfortunate as I feel that this would have really elevated my experience of Fryday's (it then becoming a pun within a pun - genius!) but never mind, I will try again next time. T.G.I.FRYDAYS!

We ordered four 9' pizzas, for £13.99, working out at around £3.50 each, which we can all agree, is a great deal. After that, we ordered a portion of chips each, spending £5 in total. We were able to order online, in what was a fairly easy process. The food came in less than 25 minutes, with the food seemingly better than standard takeaways we had all used in the past. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you're with a group of friends. Another plus point, it's open till 2!

Fish was just edible only because I was starving, sausage was disgusting. Imagine an onion where the outer 3 layers are just black. Decided to keep sausage until today when I took it back. I took the food to the back of shop as there were customers in there and I didn't want to create a scene, just wanted to point out what they had served me. Main theme from guy I spoke to was, "why are you bringing it back today? you should have last night when we could do something about it." I explained that i was tired, hungry and wasn't going to pay a taxi just to show the terrible food. he also tried saying it would look like that the next day, an argument he didn't stick with for too long as it was absolutely ridiculous. He then tried to give me a £1 but when I pointed out it was £2.50 he said it wasn't. So I said phone the guy who served me last night and ask him which he refused. I asked to speak to manager and yes you've guessed it I'm LOOKING at him. In a final attempt I asked him if they should do something from a customer service preceptive after serving unacceptable food, and he said I should talk to the evening shift to sort it out. So I enquired were they 2 different business's at different times of the day and he said no it was their family business. I then said that that if he was manager and it was his family ran business he should be able to sort it out there and then. The last question I asked him was, are you saying that the staff working this evening and last night that are employed by you as owner/manager have nothing to do with you? Guess what Bill Gates said? I walked out of the shop as there was nothing left to say to Bill. Anybody can make a mistake but do you really want to trust people like this with your food?

So I wandered tonight because I'd missed my bus and it was either this one or the one on the ramp which openly discriminate against homeless people. I didn't recognise any of the staff tonight. The first person who served me was polite. It was very quiet, I went to the bank and when I came back the staff rwalking round in twos informing people to leave, The second staff member was ok taking my orders, didn't give me a receipt I ordered a festive burger pie and hot chocolate. They'd run out of the latter. The police came in, they went to talk to so.e sleeping customers, I thought I'd witness another aggressive arrest on a homeless person. The person who served me called the police to tell tales. He served a drink to one of the policemen while I waited and waited. He finally brought it. I asked where's my, sorry for. Keeping me waiting? He replied something like where do you think you are ? To which I replied there is no need to be rude especially as I have Trip Advisor and Yelp to write it up. Can I just say a huge thank you to Mother Clucker? These guys were my Sunday night Saviours on the…read moreweekend just gone... I should probably explain how a fast food joint saved the day. Sunday was the launch of XP at the Mockingbird Theatre. This is a geek themed event held once a night and is a bit of a mecca for all things board game, computer game, quiz and film orientated. Naturally we had to go. I am currently on a bootcamp scheme (see http://www.yelp.co.uk/biz/fit-body-bootcamp-birmingham for info), meaning I am on a strict diet of proteins, fats and No carbs. After consuming a smoothie for my breakfast and a salad for my lunch, I was starving hungry by 5pm. Everyone seemed to be either ordering pizza (a major no-no for me) or heading to Subway for their tea. I thought neither of these would be an option before a helpful person mentioned that Subway did salad bowls, problem solved... Or so I thought. Despite having all of the components of salad, Subway in Digbeth DON'T do salad bowls (and their staff are pretty unhelpful too). In a major grump, I left the store to see what else was on offer on the street. Right next door I came across Mother Clucker. Firstly, they scored a point for having a name that made me snigger, secondly... They couldn't have been more helpful if they tried. After a quick peruse of the menu I opted for lemon and herb chicken (which is served without skin). I asked if I could have some salad with this, after looking at me strangely for a minute - the guy said "Sure, we can do that. It'll be no extra charge". Winner. The chicken was cooked fresh for me as I waited and I requested some lettuce, onion and chillies (all I could have). I was even warned that the salad might be a bit rubbish as it's predominently meant for burgers, but I thought it was sweet that they warned me. My diet friendly feast was a budget busting £3.50. The guys that did end up going to Subway ended up pretty jealous of my dinner after all. This new kid on the block is sparkling clean, very friendly and super helpful. Will I be back? You can bet your bottom dollar I will.
