The options we…read morechose with the assistance of Dean Monnin, who walked us through our choices, were particularly helpful. We even chose a battery back up so the opener operates in the event of a power failure and it's something we were thrilled to have during a rare power failure once. The door opener worked like a charm so we didn't need to operate it manually. And the opener is so quiet. We've even had Friends and Family comment on how smooth and quiet the opener is during operation. From the initial call through installation everything was done professionally and exceeded our expectations! They represent an exceptional value in quality and service. We've had our garage door and opener for more than 10 years now and have never had any issues at all. In fact, I just replaced the original 9 volt battery in the remote keypad! We are very happy with our purchase and highly recommend Columbus Door Sales to all our Family and Friends!

I ignorantly left a misguided positive review for Don's Home Improvement five months ago. Don…read moreBellehumeur had installed a pre hung exterior door that I purchased from Menards. During the installation, he bragged about how door installation was his forte. When he left, I thought all was well and he asked me to leave a review. A few months later I had a football game party and a couple of guys noted the extremely shoddy workmanship of the installation of the door. I felt really duped by Don Bellehumeur. One of the guys even found where he screwed up and instead of correcting it, he went ahead and proceeded to deceive me. I contacted Menards because that is where I purchased the door and that is where I was given Don's contact information. Menards asked for photos of the poorly installed door and they then met with Don to see if they could come up with some sort of resolution. The Menards store manager then contacted me and told me Don refused to do the right thing and re install the door. To Menards credit, they did tell me they will never do business with "Don's Home Improvement" again and will never recommend him to another customer. I now have to have the door reinstalled all at my expense. In the meantime and until the weather improves, I have a door through which you can see daylight and on which the deadbolt is not properly aligned, raising safety concerns. Run, don't walk, away fron this guy. He's got a real line of bull. And to all those females out there and not so handy men, beware of these types of contractors who will take advantage of anyone that doesn't know the difference between a reputable contractor and a shyster like Don Bellehumeur. "Don's Home Improvement" he's not!

The new salesman was not helpful during any step of replacing a custom door that was damaged in a burglary. The incident happened in the early evening on a weeknight, and I immediately called and left an after hours voicemail with Atwood Door Company. The very next morning, I was contacted first thing at 7am by the owner. He explained that he was just down the road, and had a crew member close who could be at my house shortly to survey the damage. The crew member arrived about one half hour later and gave me a quote. Although like I previously mentioned, I wasn't planning on buying a new garage door, I liked ours fine the way it was, it was time to pay the piper for the wife's inattentiveness. I agreed to the $800+ estimate and was told the crew would be out the next day to install a new door. Later in the afternoon when I wasn't home, the owner called and said his crew had finished another job earlier than they thought and could install my door that afternoon. Although I wasn't home, I gave them the go ahead and let them know the man door to my garage was unlocked. When I got home over 2 hours later, I had a new garage door that looked great. I was billed the next day and paid by check. The service was excellent and the garage door is great, but I docked one star because I paid for a new garage door spring. The crew didn't leave my old garage door spring even though it was in good condition. The springs break over time due to wear and tear. I would like to have an extra spring to save money on parts when my current one breaks in the future.
