I'm feeling a little dejavu as if I've been here, but I'm sure I haven't. Located on the 3rd floor…read moreof a mall across "Punto Valle" in Monterrey, this was a dark, cozy space with a "girls night out" and "date night" vibe.
The food was good for the venue, but probably not the main point of the restaurant. The pork tacos and grilled lobster were good, well seasoned and fresh, but not special. We were all looking forward to the lechon and hoping for a memorable suckling pig with a crisp and translucent skin. New Yorkers are spoiled by the excellent Filipino and Dominican versions of lechon found in NYC. Unfortunately, the one found here had tough, leathery skin, but the meat was very tender. Not seasoned enough, a prolific assortment of condiments was provided. The space was very clubby, and we sat overlooking the avenue below on a 75 degree Mexican evening enjoying the warm breezes. Very ambient chill feel here, but the food could have made this place a contender. We enjoyed good wine, good conversation and the great local climate, Viva la Mexico!
