BEST.VACATION. EVER! Weni (the owner of Doyan Travel) is the best travel guide we have ever encountered. From the initial contact, she was friendly, informative and incredibly attentive. Our package included a 14 day stay in Bali and Yogyakarta (we started in Bali, traveled to Yogya and returned to Bali for a few days before flying back to the States). Weni made sure that EVERY detail was covered, before the trip and during. Our guide in Bali was Yerry. As other reviewers have said, Yerry was kind, accomodating and well-informed. And he was an EXCELLENT driver. Our guides in Yogya (Salif and Rocky) were just as wonderful. They made sure they took us to all of the great attractions but that they also accomodated our wishes to see/experience things that weren't on the beaten tourist path (like the bird market and a spot with gudeg that we are STILL craving!). And the accomodations!!! Each hotel/villa was better than the last! The trip wasn't cheap, but for what we got, it was worth every cent! We went during the rainy season and highly recommend it. When it rained, it only lasted for an hour or two, the average temp was in the mid 80s and best of all, there weren't many tourists (a couple of the hotels we stayed at were virtually empty!) Just one suggestion---make sure that you build some downtime in your schedule. While we loved the fact that our tour was chock full of sites and activities, we would have liked to have a day or two of downtime just to relax by the private infinity pools ;) Our only regret is that Weni doesn't handle travel across the globe! We would use her every time we traveled! She is simply THAT good! Trust us, you will NOT be disappointed. read more

Weni from DoyanTravel was amazing. She put together a tailored trip accommodating all of our broad requests. She has great relationships with local vendors and guides who treated us really well. Weni was great about checking in with us during the trip and even adjusted the itinerary during the trip to accommodate our requests. Most impressively Weni quickly reacted to flight cancellations and made sure that we were taken care of on the next available flights without us having to worry about anything. We really recommend using DoyanTravel. Weni put a great itinerary together for us. We really loved the boat ride down the river ways in Borneo and visiting camp Leakey. Also our guide in Bali, Oka, was great and just driving through Bali or walking through a rice field with him was awesome. Doyan Travel is an excellent travel company to work with when planning a trip to Bali, Indonesia. Weni Wang, the owner of Doyan Travel, is a miracle worker! She's very thorough and has great follow-up skills. If you mention Doyan Travel anywhere in Bali, trust me, you will be treated like royalty. Yerry the tour guide carries a tremendous amount of wisdom and is highly knowledgeable about the Indonesian/Balinese land, culture, and its people. Yerry is a very proud Indonesian! Don't let his tough exterior fool ya...Yerry is a gentle man with a kind heart. He's also an amazing driver! Be aware that driving in Indonesia is not for the faint-hearted! Overtaking is an art on the main streets and back roads of Bali. The most enlightening part of the journey was visiting the Green School of Bali. If you would like to experience the future of education, today, a visit to the Green School is a must! Learning about sustainability and seeing an institution gradually becoming grid-free was highly inspiring. read more

I have nothing to say about DOYANTravel and Weni. I have used travel agents before, but typically have planned my own way when traveling. I had planned our entire honeymoon to Philippines, but we were not able to travel there any longer, as several of our destinations were in the path of Typhoon Haiyan. Luckily, we were able to switch our flights to go to Bali, instead of Manila, from Seoul. Since we only had 5 days before we left, we decided that it was best to use a travel agent as we had no time to do any research for Bali. We found Weni through the Yale Alumni Travel, and am so glad that we did! Weni was able to arrange a perfect honeymoon for us, on the Thursday before the Monday morning when we were leaving (and with a half-day time difference!). Not only that, but she crafted an itinerary that was perfect for us, as she included a variety of different activities-- including diving, which was our main objective for the trip, as well as going to Komodo. I would never have selected some of the places she did for us (Menjangen- incredible), but it was exactly what were looking for. Weni also communicated to all of the hotels that we were on our honeymoon, and received a little gift from each place (including a guitar and dance serenade, cakes, wooden boxes, etc). One of those little touches that makes everything perfect. The quality of the hotels she selected was impeccable as well. One of the highlights of our trips was our driver guide, Yerry. I cannot express how wonderful this man is. He discussed with us every question which we asked him, and came to learn a good deal about Balinese and Indonesian culture through him. His knowledge is incredible, and his English is too! He was a safe driver, knew all of the different and most efficient routes around the island, was reliable and timely, and always knew the best places to stop. It was a delight to get to know him. We also appreciated how we were provided with a cell, which we could use to contact him. I wish all of my interactions with travel agencies have been this wonderful! read more

My wife and I are very happy that we went with DOYANTravel to organize our honeymoon trip to Bali. Weni was there every step of the way, from catering the trip to exactly what we wanted to experience (a good mix of relaxation along with exploring the sites and culture of Bali), providing amazing accommodations, and organizing an extremely knowledgeable driver to guide us throughout trip. Hand down, this is the best trip my wife and I have ever experienced. While there were threats of earthquakes in other areas of Indonesia (Sumatra, which we now know is quite a distance from Bali), Weni was very reassuring and urged us to still take the trip, and we are so happy that we did. No question went unanswered, and she even called us during the trip to make sure that we were enjoying ourselves. Additionally, my wife and I are vegetarian, and she made sure that we had vegetarian meals planned throughout our stay. We booked our trip last minute, but Weni made sure that we experienced everything that we wanted to. The hotel accommodations (Nusa Dua Resort, Komaneka in Ubud, Mimpi Resort in Northwest Bali, and the Samaya Seminyak) were amazing and unique. Nusa Dua Resort had beautiful grounds with impressive swimming pools, delicious breakfast buffet, and amazing beach. Komaneka had the best hospitality and a wonderful infinity pool. Mimpi Resort had an outdoor shower and bathroom and a private jacuzzi with hot spring water, plus nice pools and hot spring hot tubs. The Samaya private villa was amazing with a private pool with waterfall, and large villa. The temples (Uluwatu, Besaikh, and Tanah Lot) were impressive. Snorkeling at Menjangan Island, hiking up Mt. Batur to see the sunrise, experiencing the Kecak dance at the Uluwatu Temple, and strolling through the streets of Ubud and Seminyak were unforgettable. We highly recommend the Elephant Safari Park (one of the main highlights of the trip) and 5 Elements Spa. read more

We were so fortunate to find Weni's Bali Travel site while researching our 20 year-long dream of a luxury Bali trip. Weni advised 10+ days for our trip, and I'm sorry we didn't take her advice: we arranged only 7 days. Now we can't wait to go back and will once again contact DOYANTravel as our first step. We were so well taken care of, but also had our free time: a perfect combination. He was very educated and we learned much Balinese culture and history, which was very important to us. I am long overdue in writing this review. However, please don't let the duration of time that elapsed from my trip that Weni so artfully crafted for me fool you. It has been the best vacation that I have experienced in my adult life. I have been to several countries and this one is the one that will always remain dearest and the most special to me. Weni was the most kind hearted person you will ever hope to meet. She has genuine pride in her country and so passionately takes your thoughts, ideas and dreams and makes them a reality. Put all of those things in the back drop of a breathtaking country and history is made! My memories still remain the most vibrant as the day that my eyes drank in all of the splendor on the days that I experienced all that Bali has to offer. I cannot speak any more highly of Weni, her company and her driver, Yerry, who over the course of my 2 week vacation to Bali became my friend. Additionally, Weni made a special arrangement for her and I to meet as I was traveling solo. She made reservations at Ayana resort where she treated me to a wonderful dinner and then we moved our conversation to the rock bottom bar that sat atop a stunning cliff overlooking the ocean. The beauty of the temples that I visited as well as the overall charm of the people and the culture there was quite humbling. The snorkeling that she arranged for me was also more impressive that when I was in Australia and visited the Great Barrier Reef. There is so much to do and if you put your trust in Doyan travel you will surely not be disappointed. From the moment of correspondence, I felt cared for and was given knowledgeable and accurate information in a very timely manner. I put my trip together in 2 weeks and Weni was the person who made it all happen. My needs were taken care of right away and from the second that I stepped foot into Indonesian soil where I was greeted by Yerry to the very last day when he walked me to the last point he could escort me at the airport on the day of my departure I was always in good hands. The agency is owned and run by Weni Wang. Weni planned our entire trip after extensive discussions with us about our travel likes and dislikes. We opted for a personal guide for the entire trip. Each hotel Weni selected was a dramatic wonder . My wife loves dancing and Weni provided 6 different events one better than the next. The Tuk tuk dance by the ocean should not be missed. We loved Boborodur, Pranbanan, and the Komodo dragons. The culture and crafts in Bali east and west was fabulous. The guides particularly in Java and Bali were outstanding and the food was always exciting. I had vetted Weni's credentials before the trip and all feedback was totally positive. This was a trip where we felt we had received more than our expectations.We flew through Hong Kong to Densapar going and through Singapore and Tokyo coming back. This seemed to be the most efficient and cost effective route. We visited Singapore for 1 day which seemed just right.You can rely on Weni's hotel and guide selections both of which were outstanding.
