I seldom write reviews because we own a business and I realize things happen. That being said, my mother's service was this last week and I would not recommend this funeral home. There were SO MANY things that should have been done differently. They might have been able to accomodate us on most of it, however, during such a difficult time, shouldn't they be the ones to ask us all the questions? ie: Her obituary was so poorly written, I am embarrassed to show it to anyone. I would've been happy to have written it myself instead of the very short, very basic facts that they provided. We are all Protestant, yet there was a kneeler placed right in front of her casket as well as a Catholic cross on the wall. She had on bright lipstick and fingernail polish; she never wore either. My son-in-law had to run their sound system because none of them knew how. Really? If you use Downing, may I suggest maybe finding a checklist of some sort online? They are supposed to be the professionals, but I felt maybe they were in the wrong profession. read more
