Especially since I've passed by this spot countless times and had no idea how much I was missing out. Located on Whittier blvd right by the Wells Fargo ATM. I was glad that it wasn't as busy as it typically gets so we were able to place our order quickly. Service was polite & friendly too. The menu here isn't big, but the portions are in my opinion. They sell churros by the bag (10 pc) so it's definitely ideal for sharing with someone. We ordered 1 bag of churros for $15 with lechera (sweetened condensed milk) on the side for an extra $2 and we also ordered a chocomil (chocolate milk) for $9. That was actually our 1st time trying chocomil and it was ridiculously delicious! It was thick, creamy, refreshing, had a nice subtle banana flavor and wasn't too chocolatey either which I really enjoyed. Last but definitely not least the churros alone were phenomenal, probably some of the best I've ever had in my life. I loved how irresistibly crunchy and warm they were, I almost didn't want to share haha. Everything tasted sooo yummy, this is definitely a new favorite of mine. If you're in the East LA area or just have a sweet tooth, do your self a favor and give Churros Don Abel a try. Looking forward to my next visit!

Parking was fairly easy, I found street parking. Tacos were solid. Al pastor tacos, 7.8/10: Meat itself was spot on. Smoky, flavorful, wasn't overcooked. Paired super well with the piece of pineapple on top. The tortillas though were a bit soggy from all the juices, it didn't hold up well. Wish they let me customize the salsa, since the guy put a large scoop on. That being said, I did like how the tortilla soaked up the juices and marinade from the pork. Maybe it soaked it up a little too well. Salsa also was a bit watery. Asada Mulitas, 6/10: The melty oaxaca cheese they used was great with the asada. The asada itself was tasty and they did not skimp on the amount. Add some chili and salsa verde on top for a little kick. At other spots in the LA area, I've gotten mulitas that have been assembled and put back on the grill for a crispier tortilla. But this spot didn't do that, so I was missing on that texture experience. I have the same criticism about the soggy tortilla. Really brings down the score for me. Horchata, 8.5/10: I thought their horchata was superb. Tasted the rice, cinammon, and milk. It wasn't watered down at all. It was a great drink to offset the chilis and grilled onions.

My go-to every single time is the 3 birria tacos plate with their flavorful consommé. It never misses. The tacos are perfectly crispy, packed with meat, and paired with that rich, savory consommé. It's always satisfying, filling, and priced fairly compared to other spots. Service is consistently quick, friendly, and reliable. I've personally never had an issue with any of my orders, which says a lot. The food truck itself is always clean and well-maintained, with a menu that's easy to read (and includes pictures.
