Both captain and mate did a great job of putting us on fish as well as making sure we got them to the boat! We did a full day, departed at 5.30am and back to the dock for 2.30pm. During the day, we had a nice mix of bottom fishing as well as trolling. Captain Terry was good about accommodating our request to do a bit more trolling than normal. John, the mate was on point all day long and was friendly and helpful with lots of tips and info. By days end we caught a 25# grouper, 60# AJ, 5 Mahi between 10#-20#, along with some other good eating fish mixed in. All five of us had a great time, and we will certainly be back in the near future. Thanks Big Easy!

Not what it used to be...most recent trip captain sat on a single spot and wanted to leave early…read moresaying "we caught enough, I have to fillet all these" after just a handful of snapper being caught...we are experienced anglers looking for grouper and AJ's. To top it all off, captain got frustrated with a shark hanging with us and chose to use my personal rod to let the shark sit on...even after the mate warned captain the rod might break doing that, captain continued until my custom built $300 rod snapped in half. Captain said "that f'ing sucks", never an apology or even an attempt to rectify the issue...he still wanted his full $1,200 payment in cash. Bruce lost a good group of customers this trip...although it's clear he's already quietly retiring at the job.

Went out on this fishing charter boat today ... it was a windy morning and was concerned about my…read moresafety from the very beginning . Further , upon looking at the boat .. it reminded me of the shipwrecked but from Gilligans Island . I specifically asked the boat Captain if it was too windy today and if the this boat was safe . They lied on both accounts . The waves out at see were so high and violent the boat almost capsized on atleast 3-4 occasions . All passengers were sick with sea sickness .. 25 miles out at sea the Captain informed us the boat is taking in water and instructed his first mate to grab the life vests AND to get the life raft ready. I felt bad for the first mate because it was his first day on the job and the Captain talked to him like he was a piece of chum . All passengers had to abandon ship and swim toward the coast guard boat which pulled us on board and saved our lives . The Captain of this boat cares more about collecting his money from his passengers than the safety of his passengers . This boat is a death trap ... do not go in this boat .. Further , the coast guard told me 95% of these charter boats , including this heap , are privately owned and not subject to inspection guidelines like other vessels are . I'm seriously considering taking this boat captain to court for gross negligence.. but by the looks of this boat .. he probably doesn't have a pot ( or sea worthy boat ) to piss in . Stay away !!

Captain Rich and his…read morecrew mate Stu put us on top of the fish again and again - always searching for the hot bite whenever the fishing got slow at a spot. THIS GUY KNOWS HOW TO FIND FISH AND WORKS TIRELESSLY DURING THE CHARTER! Besides finding fish (which is most important) - being on a boat (for 3/4 day to a full day) with someone you enjoy and trust (in the middle of the ocean) is critically important. Four of our party of six were non-fishermen - and Captain Rich and Stu were very patient and helpful getting everyone into the fish. No stress and lots of fun and laughs. Captain topped off the day by filleting our catch and recommending the "original tiki bar" at the wharf to prepare a meal of them blackened, fried and broiled. The fish were cooked to perfection. Our day with FINS was the highlight of our spring break trip. We will be back to fish with Captain Rich and Stu soon!
