The Down Recorder is the main paper in the Down and for good reason: it is of a better quality than the other papers! The paper has recently undergone a bit of a cosmetic face lift so all articles are laid out better and are easier to read, which was another step in the right direction! Also the paper is now stapled together which means the falling apart risks of the past are a distant memory! The paper has everything you need. It has all the biggest local stories in the first section, there is the letters section for politicians to promote themselves and allow people to get on their soapbox, an entertainment section and a good job hunting section. The sports section is also very good as it contains the results, fixtures and game reviews of all the local sports including the GAA, soccer, rugby, darts, pool and even fishing!
