I will never go there again. I took my mower in because the starter cord was catching. I had to…read moreput down a $45 deposit. 10 days later the mechanic called me and said he had no issues starting my mower and wondered if it had tipped and flooded. I said what are you talking about, the starter cord is catching. He then said just move the mower forward and it should start. I asked if he was going to look into why it was sticking, he said no that would cost too much money. When I picked up my mower the cord again stuck and the man told me the same thing about mowing the mower forward. I was charged $40.71 for labor though all he did was check the oil and gas and start the engine. I was also charged $4 for shop supplies, so the total came to $45. Dropped off the rim to have the new tire put on and it was back to me within 48 hours. Here is where the 5 star service comes in, the gentleman that helped me check out was incredibly kind and helpful, he answered all my questions about this, that, and the other thing. I got home and quickly put the tire on. It immediately went flat... called to ask what could have happened, they said bring it back in and they would fix it right there. I get the tire off and it was 100% my fault. I put the tire on backwards (like an idiot) and the valve ripped off. Again, this was completely my fault, they did the tire perfectly, I just wasn't paying attention and in a hurry to get the gator back in commission. I brought it in, tail tucked, and explained my mental shortcomings. The same gentleman that checked me out took it back and fixed it for me right there. 10/10 customer service 10/10 staff 10/10 work. If you have any service needs, I cannot recommend the service department at century enough.

The service manager got the spark plug out and the parts dept found the one I needed and service installed it right away. I had never been to Century before and was really pleased with what they were able to do for me right away. The men and ladies that work here are always helpful and the place is dog friendly. Like all neighborhood hardware stores, they stock things that are pertinent to the neighborhood. For example, last weekend I was doing some plumbing, decided to go to Menards and ended up returning everything I bought there because this Ace had what I needed. I could've saved myself some time and just came straight here but I had to be that cheap bastard and well, it shows ya where it got me. Unfortunately, they didn't have any in stock that day, despite my hopeful pun. But what really stood out was the effort the staff put in to help me. They didn't send me on my way; instead, they took the time to check the back room, just in case there was leftover stock that hadn't made it to the floor. When that didn't pan out, they didn't stop there. One of the employees pulled up their online inventory system to see if it was available or if other locations might have them. This kind of proactive service is what makes Ace feel like the helpful neighborhood hardware store it's known to be. Even though I left empty-handed this time, I left with a positive impression. As you can see from my photo of the store interior, their shelves are well-stocked with a wide variety of hardware and tools. While I didn't get what I came for this visit, it's clear that on most days they'd have what I need--or at least be willing to help me find it.
