I'm a retired paramedic-firefighter, and have lots of experience with physicians, both observing and assisting. If Dr. Braunstein were not 4 miles from my home (Statesville) I'd happily drive a couple of hours to see him.

He ordered labs the first time I saw him and I received a quick and accurate diagnosis, FINALLY! The disease spreads quickly and almost two years had already gone by, so I am very grateful that he knew to test me for certain things -- things that two PC providers and one ENT did not test me for. If he had not tested me, I would have ended up disabled eventually. His nurse is always nice. I have called her many times, especially when I was in more pain than usual. They completed paperwork very, very quickly. What I was diagnosed with is not even in his specialty, really, but he knew to test me for it because it does affect the nerves. I am so grateful for him and his staff! After almost two years of being misdiagnosed, it was a relief to know what I really have, although not a good disease to have. Some doctors don't even know to test you for some things, despite you having ALL the symptoms. Again, I am GRATEFUL!!! Fourth and fifth opinions are sometimes necessary. I'm glad I finally got the right doctor!

not that anyone ever wants to get medical testing done but if you gotta go you gotta go and as…read moreplaces go this seems a good place to be for being kinda out in the sticks. oddly, due to this societal distance it is pretty findable and get-to-able: it's the first cluster of buildings as you arrive when approaching Davis Medical Center from I-40 on the east side of Statesville (says Old Mocksville Road Professional Building on the side.) ample parking all around, especially out front. enter through the lobby and follow the signage to your assigned specialty and proceed according to posted instructions. Endoscopy seemed to be conforming well with plague protocols through good scheduling and processing practices: I was attended individually at check in, then in the relative privacy of a curtained ward, the exam room, and finally back to the ward for recovery. members of staff were always properly attired, and aside from the ubiquitous face masks and gloves I think it is actually typical of medical offices and not indicative of any special effort on their part. I can't swear to it but I would like to believe that there was no breach of convention while I was sedated. ...my lovely bride / designated driver remained in the central waiting area during my visit and was not forthcoming with any significant complaint so I guess that all went well, we've been at this for most of the year and folks are pretty good about keeping their distances socially or otherwise... afterwards I was escorted to the car and sent on my way with a small stack of papers and my dignity intact. all the staff for intake to were top notch professional, poised, and polite. despite being "just another patient" I never felt like I was just another patient. so if you gotta go you gotta go and this seems a good place for it.

Beware of this office. I went there for sick visit and while I was there, it was decided that the…read moredoctor wanted to run a multitude of tests. Before which, he and the nurse assured me multiple times that all tests were done within the office. The blood tests were drawn and I left. What I found out later, however, is that the tests were not in fact done within the office. They were instead only drawn in the office and sent elsewhere to be tested. None of the office staff ever made me aware of this. Because of sending it out, something the my insurance did not cover (they only cover in-office testing) I recieved a nearly $600 bill from LabCorp for services rendered. When I brought this to the attention of the folks at the office, they refused to take any responsibility for what happened and instead blamed everything on me saying that I should have known what was and wasn't covered. Working in the field myself, I know that the offices have a better capability to know this information when they run a patient's insurance and it should be a courtesy to let the patient know if what is planned won't be covered before a huge, unexpected bill is incurred. On top of this, I had had a yearly visit scheduled. This visit had been scheduled a year before. When it came time for the appointment, a year later, I had forgotten about it and missed the appointment. When contacted, the doctor's office claimed to have tried to call. I never recieved a call. When asked why they didn't send a reminder letter they simply replied that they don't do that. As a result of missing the appointment, they hit me with a nearly $40 dollar fee; this on top of what they already cost me! Keep in mind that I have never missed an appointment with them before and kept in contact when I knew appointments were coming up. They refused to be understanding of the situation and became very rude over the phone. Needless to say, I promptly ended my relationship with them after paying the fee. I will never set foot in this office again and would suggest others be careful before doing so as well.

He takes time to listen to your concerns and offers his advice in a pleasant way! I've never questioned his care and treatment for my son! My son is overall healthy but at our many visits here for other issues, I've witnessed Dr. Borja care for a lot of sick children. He speaks Spanish and so do many of his medical assistants. His staff has had recent changes but the new staff are friendly, too. I highly recommend Dr. Borja for pediatric medicine! He is a good, caring pediatrician and you won't feel like just a number here! He accepts most any insurance and will work with you if you don't have any. This is hard to find nowadays as that is why I switched my son to him at age 5. We will have to switch doctors again soon because of my son's age but I am thankful for the excellent care we've received here!

He takes absolutely NO chances with my children & will not hesitate to send us to a specialist or even step away from the exam room to call a colleague from Baptist for input. I can call him day or night & he's always there for my family. My only "complaint" is when you go to see him, plan to be there awhile! Dr. Borja takes his time with EACH child, he's in no rush, so the wait can be long, but when it's YOUR child needing that one on one care, you'll appreciate that time he spends making sure he misses nothing. His practice consists of only him, a PA on Wednesdays, and his 2 medical assistants. So it's small, but again, that's where the individualized care comes into play.
