My room & hall on my floor
Ac C.

This hotel must have a new managing director since my visit a couple months ago. The hall and my room flooring was unacceptable as a Hilton member and any other visitor to this hotel. One could think and not assume proper training of employees are not regularly checked by anyone. Do they still have vacuums after a week. This is unacceptable service when it was not free stay at Hilton. Trashy location. I felt like a was at a location with no standards. Go figure, it was a dog-free Hilton which is rare. People have allergies Hilton which includes dust, dogs & cats

King size bedroom only three pillows though ‍

Clean and great atmosphere. Didn't get to experience or explore the amenities however the room was very clean and bathroom. It is near the Sumit which is a shopping mall with restaurants. There is a brunch place called "The flying Biscuit" which is near by which obviously calls for BRUNCH

Honestly, the stay wasn't anything spectacular! Very mediocre. It is conveniently located but seriously could not get over the black floors in the bathroom. Just yuck

As an essential traveler/worker, I appreciate a good hotel breakfast during these times. Served straight from the kitchen.

The few times that I've stayed here recently has certainly been a very hospitable and CLEAN experience. The ladies at the front desk are very personable and really make you feel like you're home. Location is within proximity of several restaurants and less than 1/2 mile from The Summit. The pool has been closed during my stays, but the fitness center is open. There's also an Amazon locker located inside for you Amazon junkies like myself :). Oh! And the cookies are still served fresh and warm.

Dunno what this is for, obviously didn't work because the tv reception was garbage.

4 star hotel but deserves 1 star. I can only speak on my experiences, but it was a nightmare during my stay for my business trip. My room smelled of chlorine. There were no other king bedrooms available to be transferred to. There was not a do not disturb sign on my room so before I can go down to get one. An "engineer" walked right in. The cable tv connection was so poor it made watching television unwatchable, make sure to bring your own resources if you want to watch anything at the end of your night. I was only given one towel for my entire stay. The housekeepers are extremely loud outside of the room in the morning. There's no reason any one staying should fear housekeeping barging in on them but I did. It makes for an unpleasant stay. I was charged for my breakfast and then the host came back again asking to ring me up after charging me and taking my card 5 minutes before. I literally just handed her my card and paid, and she came back around asking me to pay again because she forgot she already rang me up...wtf. I didn't think it would get worse but it did. I picked the doubletree thinking it would be a nice stay but I've stayed at better 3 star hotels. I won't be revisiting this place in the future.

I have no intention of returning to the state of Alabama but if I do I'm staying here, great customer service, I am able to play video games on their TV and hook up my system to the Internet plus the staff is very accommodating, thanks double tree

Nice rooms, having restaurant in the building is convenient. Food was good. Several restaurants were nearby but didn't feel like going out.

I was quite disappointed with my current stay at this hotel because last time I was here everything…read morewas wonderful. My bathtub had quite a few hairs from different cultures in it and I had to rinse and wash the walls and the tub before taking a shower, The screws around the toilet don't have covers and the trashcan in the bathroom is dirty and scuffed. When the sun hit the room, I realized how dirty the flooring is. To top it all off the hotel had our checkout time mistakenly for 6:15 AM instead of 6:15 PM and they were calling the room and banging on the door, which woke me up. Front desk was very apologetic and I certainly appreciate their apology and the mistakes happen but the condition of the room and how dirty the floors are was disappointing.

My colleagues and I were convinced this was a lower brand hotel that had rebranded as a Hilton and…read moreas I came here to review it, it turns out we were correct. It used to be a DoubleTree. First the good... The front desk staff are welcoming, friendly, and responsive. Looking at you Darrell, Ty, and Tamara! The lower level has updated meeting space that can accompany groups for business meetings or other gatherings. There's also a Starbucks in the lobby and Blazer's Grill downstairs available for dinner and drinks. Now for the bad: There's a systemic issue with maintenance in the hotel. So many of us had toilets that would keep running unless you manually manipulated the handle, or lifted the lid, or toilets that had no water at all. Outlets aren't flush against the walls. I had splatters on various windows and walls and floors that I thought was poor cleaning but it turns out someone had repaired something and didn't do a proper clean-up ie plaster splatters from a ceiling repair on wallpaper, paint or caulk splatters on the corner of a mirror or shower stall. In addition there was something left to be desired with cleaning - hairs that weren't mine on the floor, debris under the bathroom counter, hard water stains in the toilet. I slid a small side table over a foot or two and the under rim was sticky. Because so many people in my group had these issues it didnt seem worth it to try to move rooms. This is apparently just the experience for most at this hotel. Then in the meeting rooms one day it was hot like a sauna and the overhead lights flickered (maintenance came to fix the lights). The next day the meeting room was cold like a meat locker. I expect a lot more from a Hilton property. My guess is being close to the University and the airport with University-related travelers and flight crews staying there, there isn't incentive to do better.

I would not stay here again even if I was offered a large sum of cash in exchange for my stay. My…read morevehicle was stolen from the parking lot just last week. They don't do anything to safeguard your property, they didn't seem to care about crimes committed on their property, I haven't gotten an apology, and they had the nerve to charge me for parking "all night" in the very same parking lot that my vehicle was stolen from- no discount for not even getting a full overnight of parking. The "security" provided is not security at all, it's an employee wearing a security t-shirt that stays inside the building. They don't have cameras. When I asked if this type of thing happened often, I was told "there were two vehicles stolen a few weeks ago during a thunderstorm when it was raining really bad". That being said, safety is not important to hotel staff or management, you as the customer are not important, customer service-non existent, if you plan to stay here for "convenient location", please look elsewhere. You may just wake up to find that your car has been stolen from the parking lot. Based on the lack of empathy, concern, and surprise shown by hotel staff, I can't help but wonder if it was an inside job. I can only recommend you staying here if you are an idiot that likes taking chances. *update- police informed us today- one week later that hotel staff heard the vehicle alarm going off, walked outside to make sure it wasn't his personal vehicle, and saw the stolen vehicle "aggressively reversing and exiting the property".... And yet the hotel staff did absolutely nothing about it. He didn't call police and he didn't tell anyone of this info until days later. This staff member was present when I was in the lobby calling police three hours later and he made no move to tell us these details then. Additionally, it is obvious the vehicle was being stolen at the time because the vehicle drove through the "arm" at the exit while leaving the scene. What great integrity this gentleman has! He clearly doesn't care about anything except doing the minimum to draw his paycheck. I repeat- do not stay at this hotel!!!

We were greeted and oriented by Ms Doreen on arrival. She recognized us a Hilton Honors members which was really nice because it often does not happen. Our first floor room was large, well equipped, and spotlessly clean. Morning breakfast buffet offerings were healthy, fresh, and varied. A hostess took our room number, and we chose our own seating. The coffee was excellent! The property is a bit dated, and the room fixtures hum to a tune of their own, but it was a comfortable stay in the city.

Not a bad stay at all…read more It's an old bank and still has some of the old stuff incorporated into the design. It's a cool building on the outside too. Nice remodel into a hotel and very creative as well. I peaked into the rooms being serviced while I was leaving and none looked the same as mine in the inside. My room had a cool mail chute built into the wall. There is also the old directory in the lobby that listed the branch managers and workers that were on each floor. The inside interior design is very well done. The lobby area is so pretty. I love the graduating wall paint. Incredibly cool. My room had some strange nooks and crannies in it that really made it even cooler. There were windows tucked into tiny corners. Tons of uniqueness. The room was clean, well stocked, coffee maker worked, hot waster came fast, and the bed was super comfy. So much in fact, I thought I was home when I woke up to use the restroom in the night. My only gripe is the it's a bit rough around it. Not much you can do about that. The homeless people that are around are sad to see, and there were quite a few. I wish more could be done to help them. It's tough to sleep in a $250/night room and know people are asleep on the ground outside. Not shaming these fine folks, but it is what it is. I'd return. For sure. '26 - 50

Some…read moreroom are much bigger and impressive than others but they all have the same accommodations and decor. There is a cute restaurant downstairs and a rooftop bar with a nice view. I usually order in for breakfast and the food comes quickly and as ordered. The fitness room is the biggest problem for me. It is small. Even if it had the same equipment in a bigger space, that would be an upgrade. Although, more equipment would be ideal. The elevators are the other issue. They are very slow. Though, I appreciate the vintage touch. I am an elite member and was told that my late checkout could be at noon... a regular customer would be able to stay that late. On a Wednesday in Bham? I found it to be a little bit disingenuous. Other than that, I will be back.

Tonya checked me in and was very kind. I had a king bed and the room was set up the way I like it. The bathroom was nice, and the overall layout worked well. I requested a refrigerator and microwave, and they brought them up without any problem. Juma came up and installed everything, which I appreciated. One good tip is the parking. The hotel has parking, but there is also parking across the street for a fraction of the cost. It was about ten dollars for twelve hours or twenty dollars for twenty four hours, so that is worth knowing if you are trying to save a little money. The location is another major plus. It is very central and walkable. I used Yelp to find several restaurants nearby and was able to walk downtown to different spots without any problem. That convenience really adds value to the stay. I even stopped by the bar and they were kind enough to give me ice and help me out there too. Honestly, the staff here are so nice that it really pushes the experience up for me. We are loyal Hilton Diamond members and have stayed at multiple Hilton properties around the world. This was one of the worst properties we have ever stayed at. We stayed here in February and from the time we attempted to check in, it was disappointing. We were upgraded due to our Diamond status and upon checking into our room it was absolutely disgusting. The bedsheets appeared dingy and the bathroom was gross. There was hair on the ground and a vomit stain on the tile. So vile! We called downstairs right away and were moved to another room that was not much better. However, we were there for a family function and has other guests arriving that we has suggested the hotel to. We did notify the manager on duty and he told us he would escalate our concerns. The next day, the hotel manager, Tonya was on sight and sat down and spoke to us regarding the issues. She agreed that our experience was 100% unacceptable and promised to compensate our Hilton Honors points for our entire stay. She assured us that she would make this happen. Also, despite our complaints and meeting with her, our room was never even serviced by house keeping our entire stay. Now over 1 month later after no follow-up call or email, we contacted her and at first she acted as if she has no idea what we were talking about. Then she stated she escalated the issue to corporate but was unauthorized to issue more than 20,000 points, which covers absolutely nothing. And stated there was not really anything for her to do! She totally and outright lied to us, after she had assured us in person and in an email that our entire points would be compensated. She even had the audacity to even yell at us on the phone. This is not the type of experience I expect as a loyal Hilton Diamond Member. In conclusion avoid this disgusting and poor quality Hilton property at all costs.
