Double Eagle Trading Company is a must stop, one of a kind, old school, Southwest Gift Shop and some what educational for all ages. You can find "that perfect gift" within any price range. We bought a mix of items that wouldn't weigh down our already overloaded luggage: socks, jewelry, postcards, jellies, & hot sauces to mention a few. Why I even tried on a pair of used, well worn boots, but sadly the "glass slipper" didn't fit. My husband took a wrong turn and we stumbled across this place on on way to the Grand Canyon (Southside). Comparing this shop to three others I visited, it gets 5 stars for its inventory, decor, and authenticity. I spoke with a young lady at the jewelry display and she says that her family bought the business six months prior and that they all moved down from San Diego to work there. She told me that Native Americans will come in with a tray of their personal work (usually only 5 pieces or so) and that is where they get their jewelry inventory. The inventory was impressive with lot of silver jewelry, moccasins, art work, pottery, baskets, kid toys, dream catchers, you name it. The young lady mentioned that their prices were 20-30% cheaper than most stops closer to the Grand Canyon because they were in the middle of no-where. She said a lot of shoppers will come back after they have price shopped closer to the Grand Canyon. I did not price check to confirm this. I did take advantage of the free coffee. read more

My friends and I stumbled on this amazing store in Williams, AZ after leaving the Grand Canyon. We were filled with delight at the vibrant colors and vast amount of Native American/Cowboy items on display. All of which are locally made. They have any size and variety of cowboy hats, moccasins/ Sweatshirts and some humorous novelty items. They have porch/kitchen signs, replica guns, and wooden hand carved items to be displayed. We spent almost an hour in the store because we didn't want to miss anything. This is the perfect one stop shop for tour groups. They have something for everyone! They could probably even pull items for folks in advance if it were pre-arranged and there was a time crunch. They have ample parking so buses can easily get in and out. Also don't forget to take pictures with the tee pees outside and the various statues displayed. They even have a "medicine man" in a fortune teller booth (Think the movie Big) that is motion triggered when you walk up to the front of the store who will officially welcome you and for a couple of coins he will give you a fortune. This store has the most unique and ornate items we saw while in AZ. We bought tons of jewelry, hair bows and even lollipops that had real scorpions inside. Don't worry they were food safe and have been properly sanitized. But still so cool. They have real taxidermy of Bears, and pelts from other animals. They also have an old time phone with the hand crank. It's like you step back in time once you cross the doors of the store. There are three individual rooms, each more intricate than the other. You can get real dream catchers here also. They have Native American Headgears and tribal wear. We were blown away by the restrooms. I have a total phobia of public restrooms and avoid them at all costs because (eww germs). However, once my friend went in and noted how cool they were and clean I had to check it out for myself. We were there at about 2pm and the restrooms were pristine, with ample toilet paper/soap etc. But the décor is so cool. Cowboys/Cowgirls everywhere. If you're thirsty and need a cold drink they have you covered here too. They have a cold display case with canned/bottled drinks. The new owner Kristina happened to be there the day we visited and she couldn't be sweeter. She answered every question my friends and I had and was super patient. She mentioned they also owned a steakhouse called "Yippie-ei-o". We will have to try it on our next trip. But if you have time go by!! Prices overall are very affordable here and the quality of things are excellent. The customer service is outstanding. If you go to the Grand Canyon, don't miss stopping here. I wish we'd seen this trading company/store earlier, during our trip to Sedona and the Grand Canyon. Very good quality, or at least better than the tourist shops we saw in Sedona. Quality is much better, and the owners are very friendly. Very clean store, restorooms, and free coffee. read more

This is the cutest shop I have ever been to. So eclectic. So many things to look at. You could be there for hours. Native American everything! From toys for the kids to real life-sized stuffed wild animals. They have way more variety than the stores closer to the Grand Canyon. The ladies were very kind that worked there. The only downside is that they don't allow photos inside... bummer I can't show you how cool it looks! But I guess they want you to see it in person! Even the bathrooms are full of decor for sale. Great collection of items!! The outside decor is just as cool as the inside. Definitely worth the stop! I do wish they had been a bit less snotty, however, when they told us not to take pictures inside. I took a picture of my husband making a funny pose, and the woman was fierce and quick to reprimand us. Loudly. With a sarcastic "thank you" tacked on the end. We walked out without buying anything, but we would've had it not been for the attitude. I'm still giving the business 4 stars though, because it really is pretty cool! read more

There are many Trading Post shops in Arizona and new Mexico, and we stopped at a few of them. We chose to get our souveniers and Indian pottery/blankets from this one, because they were super friendly, and they let us bring our dog in the shop- that way my husband could shop and I didn't have to sit outside in the heat holding the dog! We actually had the opportunity to see the things we liked together, and the two women who were running the shop were the nicest and most honest people! I will come here again the next time we go to the Grand Canyon area. Also- the shop was clean, had quality products at a fair price, and was really nicely decorated on the outside. On our guided tour recently to the Grand Canyon (from Sedona) the tour operator stopped off at Double Eagle Trading Co. for a "potty break" for all of us as well as to "stretch our legs." I figured the tour company had some business arrangement with Double Eagle: you know you can use our rest rooms if you bring in potential customers - a win- win for Double Eagle and the tour company. Well let me assure you this place is NO tourist trap. I was amazed at the quality and variety of stuff. I mean we are talking high quality: from silver Native American jewelry to beautiful hand made pocket knives and a manner of all sorts of other Western artifacts.My wife and I could have spent hours there rather than the thirty minute "pit stop" we were allowed. read more
