Went on the double dolphin last week and the blonde crew member was amazing she made the whole cruise. Such a hard worker. Enjoyed myself. Highly recommend . read more

After reading everyone else's reviews I feel like maybe I got the B crew, or just got royally ripped on having a good time. My husband and I have been on many catamarans here and Hawaii. I wasn't expecting anything less than stellar given 1) we are in Santa Barbara one of the most expensive places in the country and 2) it was pricey given no live music, no drinks and no food are included. The captain was a female, couldn't tell you her name because she was that non-memorable. We loaded on and shoved in where we could, and by shoved on I mean hearded like cattle!!! It was standing room only, which is a total joke! I have a 4 month old baby, who of course was FULL POP admission and had to stand until people realized and moved so we could sit. Charging for a child under let's say 2 even 1 is poor business and I should have told my aunt not to book it when they told her they would charge for my newborn. Too many people, no live music, blah captain...the saving grace were the common dolphins. She was able to find a large pod and took us out to see them. That was the highlight of the night, otherwise the sunset sucked, and I had to sit on top of the bathroom area all night because that was it for seating where you could see the front of the boat trying to watch the sunset. read more

Double Dolphin Cruises - Hanging on to my 4 month old for dear life, the smiles are forced trying to enjoy the evening on a packed ship. - Boating Near Me - Santa Barbara, California

Not worth the money. The chips, cookies, and beverages for purchase were way overpriced. Usually on a trip of this cost some of these are included and even served. Nope. Maybe pack a picnic/bottle if you are going, no one is going to check. The captain, very friendly, yet provided little information/narration on the area we were seeing or on sailing in general. Promised some speed, but delivered none. That's nature's fault, but we just sat on the ocean, seeing very little wildlife for an hour and then turned around and went back to the harbor. Played a little music, but barely audible. Who was watching the four little kids, yes, outfitted with life jackets, but jumping on the trampoline, playing way too close to the rails? Not the staff, not wine drinking parents. Super stressful. Been on many, many boat trips over the years, this was the most lack luster and we love Santa Barbara. read more

Directions as to its location are unclear. No one answered telephone when we called for help. Location landmarks given do not exist. We missed cruise by 2 minutes. They refused refund. Avoid this company. They ruined our day. Very disappointing. read more

We arrived at the dock 30 minutes before departure time as instructed, along with over 40 other people that booked the sunset cruise on the Double Dolphin. The staff ignored everyone and didn't seem to care about the growing confusion and frustration as the minutes rolled on. We didn't board until 10 minutes past the scheduled departure time which wouldn't have been a big deal if the staff had done the bare minimum to communicate with us. The rest of the cruise was nice and we enjoyed ourselves, but overall the experience fell short due to the poor handling of the boarding process. read more

Um....if your engines are running, even if the main sail is up, that is NOT sailing. Spinnaker? Up for a total of 5 min. When I book a sailing cruise, I want the peace and relaxation of sailing. If I wanted a motor trip, I'd book one instead. This was a hugely disappointing trip. PS One of the crew had her bestie along. The laughing and yucking it up between all of the crew members...very unprofessional. read more

We took the sunset cruise and the scenery along the Santa Barbara coast was spectacular. Only a few seals and sea lions perching on the buoys but a lot sea birds and pelicans especially. Bring a warm jacket and the wind breaker type is preferred as it gets chilly when the sun starts to set. Our boat ride lasted about two hours overall. It was the highlight when the crew raised the spinnaker. I wished there was more local stories telling by the captain other than just the music. Try to be at the dock a little early to find parking as it gets crowded when the sun is out. Just an alternative to experience Santa Barbara from a different vanity point. Enjoy.. read more

Best View of Santa Barbara, Impeccable Service, Perfect Length of Trip My vibrant and downright fun experience on the Double Dolphin will be fresh in my memories forever. Spencer and Brandon were our crew members who delivered impeccable service, attentive care, and made our experience wildly enjoyable for just their conversations alone! Mix their great energy and presence with pristine views of the Santa Barbara Harbor and Channel Islands ...and you'll surely start to understand my enthusiasm for the Double Dolphin sailing cruise! I would recommend purchasing their beverages ( they sell beer and wine! ) as they offer these and wonderful snacks as well that you can buy on board. Also, sailing by the sea lions on the buoy is always fun to watch ( for any age!). My only suggestion is that you try and get to know the Double Dolphin fellas that are sailing your boat and helping you have an enjoyable experience; they have astounding knowledge in marine type fields and truly love what they do! Get to know their story and make plenty of new friends on the boat as well-- it's one hell of an experience to take for such a reasonable price overall. Cheers and enjoy your time there! read more

We had a great trip and would do it again. We were in Santa Barbara for our anniversary and decided to take a cruise. We went online on Sunday night and booked for the coastal cruise on Monday. When we got there, we discovered that we were the only ones on the cruise and thought for sure they'd cancel with just two passengers, but they didn't. As soon as we got out of the harbor, they spotted a juvenile gray whale, and we followed it up the coast for well over an hour. Daniel and Spencer were great. They really enjoyed being out on the ocean and following the whale, and were clearly knowledgeable. read more

Sunset. Live jazz. Wine and beer. Santa Barbara. All on-board a 50 foot catamaran known as the Double Dolphin. If you think nothing could possibly be better than that, I would concur completely. I had a great experience on board the ship. The jazz band was amazing, the wine classy, and the ambiance very relaxed and refined. There is simply no better way of experiencing the Santa Barbara coastline than from the deck of an amazing boast such as this. The 360 panoramic views were breathtaking and the sights magnificent. Also, everyone on the boat was somehow very friendly (Not just because of the wine), and I ended up chatting with a few people that had similarly great raves about the experience. As a tip, I would definitely dress warmly as it does get cold quickly. My only complaint was that I wish we could have gone out to open water, and for longer! read more

Thank you so much for making my 30th birthday cruise an absolute success! The boat was amazing, the perfect size for our group of 21 people. Plenty of room to spread out and blankets on board for when we got chilly. We loved being able to play our own music onboard and they had a nice selection of wine. Best of all, the boat lived up to its name when we saw a whole pod of dolphins swimming right in front of the boat for sunset! Thanks again to the amazing crew for an absolutely perfect sunset cruise! read more

My family and close friends went out Saturday June 6 with Captain Spencer to scatter my husbands ashes. Spencer and Jonathan were both so welcoming and courteous under very sad conditions. I meant to thank them as I left however failed to do so. The boat is beautiful, well maintained and clean. I strongly recommend using this company regardless of purpose. Thank you so very much for your kindness read more

On 26 June 2021, my immediate family and some close friends chartered a catamaran with Double Dolphin Cruises to fulfill my husbands wishes of spreading his ashes at sea. Our group (23 people) were welcomed aboard, safety protocols and information was provided and we had the most wonderful day for our event. Your staff made this such a GREAT experience for us all and I wanted you to know it. This made such a wonderful ending and tribute for my husbands life with his family and friends. Thank you so much for your patience and care (a lot of us -- ages 90 to 13). You made this a memorable day for the entire family and I greatly appreciate it. We will be doing this again. read more

Our staff embarked on a Harbor Cruise and can't wait to do it again. One crew member in particular went out of his way to make us comfortable and kept our glasses full and his name is Danny Smith. He just did a superb job of making the cruise beyond fun! We saw barking sea lions (or are they seals?!) on the buoys. It was smooth sailing the whole way...I hear catamarans are like that. The breeze kept us cool. The music was perfect. Up beat. Could sing along (or not!) If you have an Axxess book it is 2-4-1 making it $12.50/person plus tip! Treat yo'self! You won't be sorry! Ask for Danny...he loves his job. read more

Amazing time on Monday doing the "Double Dolphin" with Jonathan. Super attentive and caring, took very good care of us even though we can get a bit obnoxious as a group. This was my first but definitely not my last experience here! Can't wait to go back with a bigger group. read more

For the past two years I have rented out the double dolphin for my birthday! It has been so much fun! It's hard to get enough people to rent out the entire boat but if you can do it- it is totally worth the work! you can also buy public tickets for a day or evening cruise (you will just be with people you don't know). They sell beer and wine separately on board. The captain/crew have been awesome to our group both years. Highly recommend going on the double dolphin! read more

Pretty alright boat ride. Unfortunately, in every other boat ride I've been on, snacks and drinks were completely free. On this crowded boat ride, they were charging top dollar for Cheetos and sprites. There was no other food provided. read more

My family (including my 9 and 12 year old sons) took a whale watching cruise on the Double Dolphin catamaran last week and had a wonderful time. The young staff was very knowledgeable, experienced, and easy going. They stayed in constant communication with other boats out on the water to try and find the best areas for us to see whales. They were very pleasant to the passengers and tried to ensure that everyone had an amazing time and saw some whales! We were fortunate to see one young whale that was hanging out close to the shore and a mother and calf that came fairly close to the boat. They played a nice mix of yacht rock while we were sailing and it was just a perfect day on the water. Highly recommend a hat and sunscreen as you are very exposed. Also recommend getting on and claiming a seat quickly. We ended up standing the whole time, which was fine, but I wished we hadn't missed our chance to grab one of the benches. read more

Had a lovely time on the whale watching cruise last weekend. We saw plenty of whales and the crew was so knowledgeable about all the sea life and really let us all know some amazing facts. Thanks, guys! Will definitely be back soon. read more

Captain and crew were friendly and informative. The hour cruise keeps moving but is not rushed. You'll really appreciate Santa Barbara's gorgeous coastline when you're relaxing on this boat at sea. read more

I am currently pregnant and not feeling well and they would not allow me to cancel that morning. I would never recommend this company. Best way to spend an evening in Santa Barbara! It's 25 minute for a sunset cruise along the American Riviera. They serve drinks on board, but pack a discreet wine and cheese picnic! Awesome. read more

We had a glorious 2 hours on the water. This may be my favorite boat ride so far and I have gone on tons of boats!

The Double Dolphin catamaran Jazz cruise was awesome. Seriously, a perfect, relaxing evening touring around the harbor and out around the entrance bouy seeing the coastline from a fantastic point of view. Easy going mixed group of people on board with an outstanding captain and crew (especially the bartender) making sure we were all happy and glasses were full (for those drinking). Will definitely be back! read more

Extremely enjoyable experience. I went on a Sunday night sunset cruise and it was perfect. The captain and co-captain were amazing. He actually went around and took pictures of everyone with their personal cameras or phones and he's got an eye for photography. He took some great pics and spent time with all the guests chatting and was very social and enjoyable to be around. I will definitely do it again. Also it's priced very reasonably read more

Best $27 and evening one can spend in SB. Worth the drive in from Montecito.

Captain and crew went out of their way using binoculars to ensure we saw dolphins and plenty of them, nice background music all around a great couple of hours. Would definitely do it again. read more

Used the motor almost the whole time. Would not call this "sailing." When we asked if we were going to actually sail the crew answered with a smart comment of "well the main sail is up, so we technically are sailing." read more
