Why 5 stars? Because it was quite an unforgettable experience. --- --- --- I was actually looking for a massage, as traveling throughout Italy had worn me out a bit. Somehow, Dr. Kiss Fish popped up in my search results, and I was intrigued. I mentioned it to my wife, and she immediately said she would not do it. I brought up the fact that we didn't have a ton to do in Venice anyway, and she quickly let her guard down and agreed to give it a try. So what it is? You clean your feet off and then stick them in a tank, where little fish bite the dead skin off your feet. Yep. First off, we got quite lost trying to find this place. I would definitely recommend trying to ask a local for help, because the address system in Venice is not the most organized. If you're going by Apple Maps, it'll put you in the general vicinity, but it's definitely not accurate. Once we arrived, we found out that it was 10 Euros for 10 minutes. They were very sanity about making sure our feet were as clean as they could be before we stuck them in the tank. It was so weird to initially put our feet in, and it definitely tickled a lot! But within a couple of minutes, it really didn't feel that weird. The one thing I can definitely say is that it does not hurt, if you're worried about that. My wife was in the tank next to mine and the fish in that tank seemed to be a lot more interested in eating. That, or, my wife's feet were way grosser? The funniest part of the experience were all of the passers-by who would stop to take pictures of us having this done. We were the only customers in here and were sat really close to the front by the window. So many people stopped by that it felt like we were in a zoo. Many people tried to ask us what it was like in very broken english, but no one actually ended up signing up to have it done. Apparently we were not very good sales people. I would definitely recommend it if you're in Venice! It's definitely something we will never forget and was only 10 Euros! We found Venice to be as beautiful as we hoped it would be, but also kind of ran out of things to do after a couple of days. Definitely stop by! read more

Went onto yelp to see what is around while in Venice. Came across this place while trying to look for a spa. Decided to give it a try. It is 1€ a minute so decided to do ten minutes. I asked the lady in the front and she said 10-15 minutes is most common. First you wash your feet with antibacterial soap which is provided then wear plastics bag on your feet while you wait to your station. Then you put your feet in and the little fishies come and start doing their magic. Once done you wipe your feet then lotion is provided. Your feet feel softer when you are done. A nice thing to try. It's something different. Worth trying . Price is friendly. read more

Stumbled in from around the Rialto Bridge and wanted to give it a try. I have heard about these treatments but they are not available in my area. This is a very clean, friendly little shop. Has about 5 tanks for fish pedicures. Easy, interesting experience. They ask if you have any sores, blisters, open wounds, or diabetic issues, as these will preclude you from being able to try this. They have you rinse your feet and then into the fish tank. Tickles quite a bit! So if you are ticklish, you're going to have to squirm through it. I had to distract myself with games on my phone, especially as the little fish will get between your toes!! The woman at the counter is very friendly and speaks English. Quite an interesting experience. I've been wanting to try the exfoliating fish pedicure since I saw it on television. Luckily I found out that there is a chain of these services located in Italy! The address to the business is incorrectly listed. You will waste time going in circles the way I did trying to find it. It's a shop off one of the main streets, rio Tera San Leonardo, you won't miss it! I was the only one inside and was greeted promptly. You can cleanse your feet with antibacterial before placing them with the fish. This service is not for the ticklish! I only paid for ten minutes, but I BARELY made it through!!! Its a feeling that's hard to describe...but it's worth trying at least once. read more

I've always wanted to try this. The one in Milwaukee was shut down before I could try it. For 10 Euros, I had a 10 minute foot bath with the fishes. It was amazing and it tickled, but it did refresh my feet which I needed after a week of walking 8+ miles every day in Paris and Venice. It's a little awkward to be watched by passerbys on the street. read more

It hurts, it tickles, and it feels so strange, all at the same time. This place is quite the spectacle during the day, with dozens of tourists gazing into the windows, spying on the fishes' latest victims. The concept is not foreign, although Venice wasn't the first place I think of for this type of therapy. After a few days of walking, we thought it might be a remedy for our feet. Just a heads up, if you're ticklish, hate people touching you, or are generously nervous, you might not have the best experience. You need to clean your feet first, and after dabbing them dry, stick then right into the tank. The first five minutes I squealed and squirmed more than you could imagine. The last five were more tolerable, although there were a few instances where I actually felt like the fish were eating me alive. Afterwards, I actually did feel slightly lighter on my feet, so I like to think it actually did something for me. It's definitely not for everyone though and next time, I might opt for a simple foot massage. Also, there are stories of people getting horrible foot diseases from these pools... read more

The girl working was very unfriendly. It's a tourist area where people speak many different languages. We were not even greeted as we entered the shop then she started barking orders and almost yelling at the customers that were there in English. It was clear they did not fully understand so her voice kept getting louder and it would have been very easy for her to show the person what she was asking them to do. Put the plastic booties into a basket. After seeing that interaction and asking a simple question which was answered by her pointing to a sign on the wall we left. A small amount of customer service and a smile go a long way. read more

It was an interesting experience to have fish feast on my feet :-). All in all not too bad, little weird at first but you get used to the sensation quickly. My feet felt very soft afterwards. I'm not the type of guy to get pedicures, but this one was well worth the $10 Euro!!! read more
