We made an appointment and still waited nearly an hour. No apology, no explanation, and absolutely zero respect for our time. But the worst part was the cleanliness. The facility was disgustingly dirty and did not appear hygienic at all. For a place where proper sanitation should be a priority, what we saw was extremely concerning. Between the horrible customer service, ridiculous wait time, and lack of cleanliness, I would never recommend this place to anyone. You've been warned. Look elsewhere.

After several weeks of prepping my skin with red light therapy and using Aestura to help strengthen my skin barrier, the pigment finally stayed. The color did heal a bit darker than I originally anticipated, but I was honestly just thrilled to see real retention this time and excited to see how everything would soften with a touch-up. Jewlz checked in with me during the healing process and really listened to my concerns about the color. For the touch-up, she used a brown pigment to soften and balance the brows and that made all the difference. Trust your Internet Auntie. I've gotten my brows micro bladed before somewhere else about 3 years ago (ombré brows). They faded within 3 months. I was so disappointed because this shit is expensive. I was told my skin was too oily and I sweat too much which messes with retention. Micro blading is just another word for tattooing your face in small sections in my opinion. So my dream of actually have eyebrows without having to pencil them in faded as fast as my bladed brows did. Now three years later I stumbled on Jewlz IG. Whoa, I was impressed. What the heck are nano brows? I'm not gonna explain it - just read her info on this page for the best description by the actual expert. I told her I wanted hair like strokes to look natural and real. Not like an Angry Bird and not like solid black bands on my face. I don't want it to look "obvious". She explained my options and mapped my face. She explained exactly what her plan was. Three hours later and my perfect nano brows were completed! I couldn't believe it ... I had my brows exactly as specified. I had a distinct nose bridge! I looked younger! I was happy! Julie is easy to talk to and easy to work with. She "got" what I wanted in just a few words. I'm on day 12 and they have hardly peeled in the healing stage. Tiny dry skin flakes but nothing major. She said nano brows offered good retention and so far that's been the case. I know you want to know "did it hurt?" Pain is different for everyone. She does the first pass as-is to get the outline done. Then she applies numbing cream. It feels like a sharp repetitive sting but you get used to it quickly. I was entirely comfortable throughout the whole process. Check out my pics for more reassurance if you need it. JUST BOOK IT. Get your face in order for 2025. Be happy when you look in the mirror. Save time not having to draw in your brows yourself every damn morning. Look badass instantly upon waking up Treat yo self. You deserve it. "Was it expensive?" Don't cheap out ... it's your FACE for goodness sakes. Her pricing is right in line with competitive artistry and permanent makeup. (I'll update this review if all of a sudden I wake up and there's a Case of the Disappearing Brows but I don't think that will happen.)

As a cosmetologist that has taken many courses to add to my services, this is hands down the most beautiful and clean training facility. I absolutely love the aesthetic and the space! It's great for learning while social distancing. My training was facilitated by the owner herself, who took all precautions. We are talking sanitizer at the door (and every room), two sinks, and spacious stations. I appreciated that she wore and recommended a face shield (on top of mask) as you are in very close proximity to your models. I took the lash lift (perm) and brow lamination course, and I liked the technique and added kit tools for pro tips! We had theory for an hour, a mannequin demo, and live model practice. (Ofcourse you bring your own, which is great during these times for peace of mind.) I was happy that I got the attention I paid for. I had constant monitoring in a class of 4, and kept being corrected to improve my speed as this process is time sensitive and there's no room to build bad habits! I got a lot of feedback and all my questions answered. I enjoyed this class and training center so much that I signed up for the eyebrow threading course this Sunday to enhance my work. So initially I noticed Dotta Ink when I was driving through downtown Downey. I came in as a walk in to get nipple piercings. The person Rice at the front door was very nice and welcoming when I came in. Even though they were in a meeting, he tended to me right away with a smile. You know checking the vibe of a place is always important but they definitely checked that box for me. The piercer Chris came over and asked what I was looking to get and was sooo professional. I signed a form and I was able to voice my concerns. He double checked everything, he was also soo nice and explained the whole process to me. Chris also spoke to me throughout the process and kept me relaxed. Everything went easy and simple. Kind of felt like home honestly. I loved how easy and comfortable the process was. The shop also accepts Zelle so that was a plus! He cleaned me up and gave me aftercare instructions. Even offered further help with any trouble healing. This shop is definitely a vibe! And even upon leaving Rice made sure I was satisfied! I will most certainly be back for any other needs. I highly recommend!!! read more

I received my training from the Master herself in a private one on one class and it was the best investment I've ever done on myself. She took her time to explain the fundamentals of being a Lash Artist there's so much more to just placing a lash on a client. She made sure I understood what I was getting myself into and definitely gave me all the tools I needed to be successful in this industry. So if you want to get certified learn the proper way, YouTube will not get into detail with it, trust me I tried. I chose Dotta Ink because my brother has gotten multiple tattoos with Luis and always speaks highly of his experience. I was looking to get a tattoo and texted the number on their website, they reply quickly and were able to get me in early the next day. I really appreciated this because I've had to book tattoos weeks in advance at prior tattoo shops. I was paired with The Doctor, who was very nice throughout the tattoo session. He was very mindful of making sure I liked the placement and sizing of the tattoo or if I needed a break throughout the session. You can tell he's very passionate about his work. Let me start off by saying that Academy is beautiful! It's very vintage-girly with a touch of goth and I'm obsessed with her designing. The academy is well kept, throughly cleaned, and frankly a pleasant environment. However, that's just a bonus, the classes are spot on. David and Marisela were super helpful Marisela helped me right away and she even put my favorite music (she could tell I was nervous) I showed him what I wanted, and he gave me exactly that. His work is very detailed, and you can tell he really knows what he's doing. The whole experience was smooth and comfortable.
