DO's is a pretty typical asian imbiss place, in a nice location downtown. It is a little easy to miss because it's so narrow and because the sign for it is unusually high, but it's there on Tübinger Str., across the street from Fotohaus Kerstin Sänger and just down the next block from Globetrotter. Overall it is a typical asian imbiss; order at the counter, find a seat, and they'll bring you your order a few minutes later. Even though it's Vietnamese overall, the menu is a mix of Vietnamese, Thai, and Chinese options. We went with a couple of the Vietnamese dishes, and while they were fine, neither really stood out. The chicken pho was large and steaming, but the flavor wasn't really there and the noodles were just a little overcooked and broken up. The Bun Bo was similarly average; fine flavor from the sauce, but the sauce was a little oily for my taste, and the noodles also seemed a little overcooked. In both cases though, there was plenty of meat, and it was all well cooked and tender, and the veggies seemed quite fresh. Service was good for an imbiss, and tables seemed to be getting cleared quickly so nobody was waiting for a table even though it was fairly busy. Nothing bad here really, but nothing particularly amazing either, just your basic downtown imbiss. read more
