Dorothy Perkins shares the same retail building as Evans and Burtons in the city centre, right outside the Kirkgate Centre.
It's up some escalators from the bottom floor where Evans and Burtons are. The shop is quite large, and is usually very clean and organised. There's a big range of clothing, and they do specific ranges such as petite and tall (as well as their normal range).
I find the clothing at Dorothy Perkins can be quite expensive for what it is, and I wouldn't say it's really worth the price. My standard of expensive is, say over £25 for a regular top. This won't be expensive to everyone so I've placed it as average. But my point is the quality for price ratio. I tend to shop in the sales here, as they usually have really big sales. The sales are good, they tend to section off the clothes into sizes, so you can look in the right section and not spend ages rooting through items to find they don't even have your size! It can get a little messy though, especially if they've jammed too many items onto the rails, which happens a lot.
Another note is I find that they sometimes offer student discount, and other times don't. I guess they must do it sometimes for a couple of weeks or something. I've often been left feeling awkward after showing my student pass after getting discount the week before but told I can't get it this week.
I really like this shop, sometimes you can get some bargains, other times things can be pricey. Also, sometimes there's some really special items that are worth the price, it all just depends on the fashion trend and your tastes. read more
