Dr. Carter is the most compassionate, professional and approachable medical provider I've had. I am not disputing anyone else's experience, just sharing my own. From the first time she treated me, for an emergency surgery (not pregancy-related) which she performed flawlessly, to her personal follow-up and bedside manner, to her holistic philosophy, spot-on referrals, and how she carefully explains procedures, options, and medical terminology in an accessible and not condescending way -- to me, Dr. Carter (Rosy) sees her patients as deserving of full respect and attention - you're never just a number or a chart. She thinks outside the box and, personally, has been able to reduce my anxiety about procedures that, before I started seeing her, I preferred to avoid, even though I knew they were important to do. She is straightforward and honest, but not gruff or rude. She is also trauma-informed and LGBTQ+‐affirming. I urge folx to consider her for upfront and honest care. read more

If I could leave negative stars I would. From my first visit it pointed to bad experiences to come. When she offered me the flu vaccine (she is supposed to) I declined. She questioned me and wanted to know why I would decline it. I'm not anti vaccine, I just didn't want the flu one because I wasn't around others. Dr. Carter had to tell me about her past patient's horror story of near death experiences while pregnant after refusing a flu vaccine. Then she proceeded to tell me we would do great together because I could advocate for myself. Then at 33 weeks she claimed my fundal height had suddenly fallen behind and she was worried I had an iugr baby. She ordered stress tests every week, and ultrasounds biweekly for the duration of the pregnancy. She never wanted to disclose what exactly the fundal height was that caused suspicion. The ultrasound showed my baby would continue to gain 1/2 lb every week as is normal. The placenta & amniotic fluid were normal per ultrasound. I had gained the weight recommended for any woman during pregnancy. I became worried that we would unnecessarily induce labor early and cause issues for my baby and myself. I would ask Dr. Carter as many questions as I could about her iugr suspicions, just to educate myself and be prepared. She eventually snapped at me and said that every doctor at this practice would give me the same diagnosis. On a Friday at 37 weeks I get another ultrasound. Dr. Carter said she wasn't working that day. On the following Monday I get a frantic call from Dr. Carter saying I should go in that evening for an induction. My baby who was weighing 6lbs + and on track to weigh 7+ if birthed at 40weeks had fallen beneath a certain fetal weight percentile. She then gives me the choice to go in the following day to get induced because my partner would be able to leave work to be with me the whole time. Then she tells me no this is urgent just come in this this evening after all. Wasn't this urgent the previous Friday when I had the ultrasound done? Couldn't Dr. Carter check in for one of her patient's "dire" situation even if it was her day off or ask a doc that was on shift to check for her patient's "critical" results? Instead she waited until the afternoon of the following business day to look into my "emergency". Out of fear for my first born that Dr. Carter had instilled in me for weeks I went in for the induction. I was willing to induce unnecessarily to no risk jeopardizing my daughter's health. Needless to say inducing resulted in unnecessary labor complications, that I am still dealing with today. My daughter was treated for jaundice as a result of being born early. That made breastfeeding that much more difficult. My daughter was otherwise healthy and normal weight . No iugr. When I gave birth everyone in the room exclaimed that she didn't have iugr, as if in total confusion over the diagnosis of one of their own doctors. Dr. Carter who didn't deliver my baby (thank the universe) did stop by the following day with a huge grin on her face, completely unfazed by the unnecessary grief, pain and trauma she had caused. I submitted a review of my experience at CMMC with Dr. Carter because the hospital requested one repeatedly via text message. I was not trying to make any effort to hide my identity even if the survey was anonymous. I knew with my detailed account it would be obvious who was writing the review. I wanted Dr. Carter to know what her narrow minded medical training had done to me and my daughter. I wanted her employer to understand the fear that led her "care", her impatience and short temper. Dr. Carter called me days later to let me know that I was wrong in my review. Needless to say Drs are not supposed to supposed to do this. I called patient services to complain about her new act of unprofessionalism. The gall and arrogance of this doctor knows no bounds. She doesn't respect patients, their wishes, nor the importance of working with them. She was only interested in covering herself. read more
