I went to Etretat last weekend, ended up eating here twice. Once for dinner at the bistro and lunch at the restaurant. Food was amazing at both. At the bistrot I had oysters and the linguini alla vongole, clams and pasta. The oysters were delicious, so fresh, served on a plate of ice. The pasta was also delicious. Service was very attentive and well done. We sat outside and enjoyed the sunset views. We had lunch at the restaurant a couple of days later. I had this beautiful grilled octopus leg. Perfectly seasoned. Service was not as good at the restaurant. IDK why, they acted a bit rude. Perhaps because we didn't order many things? It was unnecessary to behave that way and for the 50€ I spent they could have been nicer. It took half an hour to get water. The food is good but seriously not worth the aggravation. Go to the bistro and skip the restaurant. Both have nice views. read more

The Mr. and I only had one night at the beautiful Hotel Dormy House. The setting on top of the hill, with sweeping seaside views, couldn't have been more magical. We booked room #3, because we wanted a scenic view and boy oh boy did we get it. The king sized bed was extremely comfortable and we appreciated the modern bathroom and that there multiple outlets in the room, The grounds were spectacular, and offered beach access. We had dinner in the bistro and enjoyed the fish and chips and friendly service. If the opportunity presented itself, I would happily book a stay at the Hotel Dormy House. read more

I am reviewing the hotel , and the restaurant. The hotel was exceptional . Stayed for 2 nights. The breakfast was excellent. Fresh croissants . Delicious eggs. And the cheese spread was everything you think of. The location is excellent. Perched upon a hill over looking the ocean and village . The meal I had at the restaurant was one of the best meals I've ever had. This was 2 years ago, but the meal still sits in my memory bank. I believe it was 4 courses . This is a review of both the hotel & restaurant. Last stayed at Dormy House about 25 years ago. It's still an AMAZING location for a hotel, overlooking the English Channel and the chalk cliffs painted by Monet. Our room and bath were very large, with a sea & village views. It's worth a few extra Euros to get the view. The bed was very comfortable and the in-room wi-fi worked well. We also had a delicious dinner in the restaurant (with especially tasty fish soup). If in the area, stay here. read more
